Bush Insists His Administration Seeking 'new Ways to Harm Our Country'

The Associated Press

Published: Aug 5, 2004

WASHINGTON (AP) - President Bush offered up a new entry for his catalog of "Bushisms" on Thursday, declaring that his administration will "never stop thinking about new ways to harm our country and our people."

Bush misspoke as he delivered a speech at the signing ceremony for a $417 billion defense spending bill.

"Our enemies are innovative and resourceful, and so are we," Bush said. "They never stop thinking about new ways to harm our country and our people, and neither do we."

No one in Bush's audience of military brass or Pentagon chiefs reacted.

Well, this will be my first time voting.

I'm going to vote for John Kerry simply because there isn't a good third party candidate. Nader is a republican puppet, and people who vote for him are naive in thinking he is truly independent.

Here's the video of our ever-alert Commander-In-Chief and his very perceptive speech....

Definitely I will be, I have voted in every election since I was 18. I knew even back then I was a conservative.... ;)

I sure love running into people who love to talk crap and complain about government and most of em dont even vote. You just have to laugh at their ignorance.

On another note,

I havent been around BK much lately as Ive been too damn busy with work and my newborn daughter. Hopefully I can start dropping back in again as my schedule permits.

He's been gone since the 4th. I sent him a PM asking him how he's doing...he must not have any liberal time on his hands to respond

Maybe he accidentally stumbled into the wrong theater and happened to catch a glimpse of Fahrenheit 9/11 or met GW in person on the campaign trail..and has been to embarrassed to return....

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
