throwing a bottle and a metal flashlight at her...

WTF?

It is wasn't for the fact that this is Courtney Love we're talking about, I'd almost be suprised.

But alas, I am not. I've always thought she was one spud short of a sack of potatos and events like this help justify that train of thought.

Love Reschedules Tour Amid Legal Woes

LOS ANGELES - Rocker Courtney Love (news) will not tour in June or July so she can focus on mounting legal troubles — including a felony drug case and an alleged assault with a liquor bottle, her publicist said.

"Love has chosen to take this time to privately address the frivolous, malicious complaints and legal matters that have plagued her this spring," publicist Heidi Schaeffer said in the statement.

Love, 39, and her new band The Chelsea were scheduled to tour in June and July to support Love's new album "America's Sweetheart." Instead, Love will join the band Aug. 1 in Japan, where they will headline the Fuji Festival, according to the statement.

Courtney needs to grow up for her own sake.

Shes not shocking or anything the like anymore.

She's just become a wreck.

@39 a lifestyle change is in order.

Her music? Well...speaks for itself.

Damn shame really. But it happens.

She lives about 10 minutes away from me - Im always careful when I drive by..

J/K - I think 'throwing a bottle' being a felony sounds like overkill to me. Was anyone hurt? No!

The NYTimes music review praised her new album, saying she brings a rebelliousness to rock that is missing from the overcomercialized genre -thats probably true, thought she does sound like a troubled individual.

Courtney Love Ordered to Stand Trial

LOS ANGELES - Singer Courtney Love was ordered Wednesday to stand trial on a felony charge of assault with a deadly weapon despite her attorney's claim the case had been "grossly overcharged."

Superior Court Commissioner Sanjay Kumar listened to testimony from the alleged victim, Kristin King, and a neighbor in the area of the April 25 incident.

"There is uncontroverted evidence that without provocation the defendant threw a bottle at the victim and chased her with a flashlight," he said.

Love Pleads Not Guilty in Assault Case

LOS ANGELES - Courtney Love pleaded not guilty Wednesday to a felony charge of assault with a deadly weapon stemming from a confrontation with a woman at her ex-boyfriend's house.

Love, 40, entered her plea before Superior Court Judge Terry Green. She is scheduled to return to court for a Dec. 15 pretrial hearing, said Jane Robison, a spokeswoman for the district attorney's office. A trial likely would not start until next year, Robison said.

The felony charge is related to an April 25 incident at the home of Love's former boyfriend. Love allegedly found a 32-year-old woman sleeping on a sofa and threw a liquor bottle at her and chased her with a flashlight.

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
