HERE'S THE DAMN PICTURES!!!!

Ken

Recommended Posts

Well, as promised to Potato, I’m going to post some pictures from a trip I took last year, for the purposes of sight-seeing and mineral hunting (Topaz, Obsidian, Opal).

Unfortunately, or fortunately, there are no pictures of me (probably because I’m holding the dinky disposable camera!). Still, here are some from my trip "out west".

My cousin took a picture of some guy in a really short and tight speedo; he fucking scares me sometimes……………………….no I will not post it!

This first one is the first picture I took of the Grand Canyon. Circumstantially, this was the best shot I could have hoped for (I was surrounded by very hyperactive Asian tourists, who I practically rubbed shoulders with at all times).

It's going to take me a while to scan all the pictures, so you may see no activity in this thread for long periods of time.

#3 or 4 in the grand canyon set

This one is kind of messed up.

All you digital or otherwise photography people, and all you picture editing gurus will just have to shut your eyes, and put up with the bad for a bit.

I....don't.....own.....a.....digital.....camera!

The very shore of the Great Salt Lake.

Because of the haze, and because the salt deposit stretches for a bit until you can actually see the lake, there is not a "lake" in the picture.

As it turns out, that was my uncle and cousin.

And then of course, speedo man.

Anyway, here is a petrified tree in the petrified forest (National Park).

Last.............and disturbingly not least..........

Though you can't see it, the scarecrow has a smirk plastered on his face.

We were tempted to use a marker to draw our little friend.........a little friend...........if you catch my drift.

This painting was plastered on the wall of the check-in office at a campsite in Kansas; we stopped here on the way back.

Is the one with the dog a Frank Lloyd Wright building? Nice pics, Ken - that would make a nice slide show, particularly with the right music.

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
