This looks pretty hot - JJ Cale, Johnny Lang, Joe Walsh, John Mayer, Buddy Guy, Pat Metheny, BBKing, Carlos Santana, and Jeff Beck playing with Eric Clapton..maybe we should try to put together a BK weekend.

Anyone interested?

Hot indeed! I'm down.... Still no word from BF? :( Maybe we'll all have to chip in to get a big honeymoon sweet... we can all drink margaritas in one of those heart shaped jacuzzis... and "get to know" one another.

I wanted to go to that!! It was my birthday weekend (6/5), but I couldn't afford to go and I had to work that weekend anyway. (I only live 4 hours away!!!) :(

I would have loved to have seen Eric Clapton & Jeff Beck again. And of course all of the other greats.

Another reason I wanted to go was because of Doyle Bramhall ll, the first time I saw him was with Roger Waters in 2000. I have also seen him a few times where I work, The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion, Houston (Woodlands) TX. And the one time I have seen Eric live, Doyle and his band opened for him.

TTFN :)

Catch a 2 hour broadcast of performances from this festival this week on your local PBS affiliate. It may be on other times during the next couple of weeks as well....fund-raising time, you know. I'm watching it right now. Sure looks like a scorcher there in June, both weather-wise and guitar-wise.

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
