Premiere Magazine has a list of what they have come up for as the top 100 characters of all time.

I'll list 100 - 96, and you can all marvel as Ace Ventura and Kevin McCallister outshine Verbal Kint. Hmmm.

96. Tommy DeVito of GoodFellas

97. Ace Ventura of Ace Ventura: Pet Detective

98. Antoine Doinel of The 400 Blows

99. Kevin McCallister of Home Alone

100. Roger "Verbal" Kint of The Usual Suspects

Top 5?

Vito Corleone, Fred C. Dobbs(WTF?),Scarlett O'Hara, Norman Bates, James Bond.

Here's something I'm displeased with:

35. Dr. Evil of Austin Powers

Where is Agent Smith? He was the singular reason to watch the entire trilogy, a finer villian is hard to find. (other than Rickman in several roles)

Right on. Loved that performance. At least I assume it was a performance, all of his characters are that same persona.

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
