Google has added the convenience of US street address and phone number lookup to the information we provide through our search box. You'll see publicly listed phone numbers and addresses at the top of results pages for searches that contain specific kinds of keywords.

Yea, Umma. I must have missed it. But I typed my mother's number, which is unlisted. It gave me her street adress and everything!!

What's the point of being unlisted if your number can be accessed through Google?? Surely they got something wrong there. I would have thought if you are unlisted it should be opt in rather than opt out.

you can opt out...but good luck...several more search engines use Google as well. I'm sure the practice will continue.

Probably they will be able to pinpoint where you are with a mobile phone pretty soon...in real time.

Wait...they have that now...LOL

      You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention. 
      But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
