LOS ANGELES - Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey, who turned mid-level music careers into Hollywood superstardom by celebrating their marriage in an MTV reality show and television specials, are calling it quits after months of persistent breakup rumors.

The couple announced their separation Wednesday.

"After three years of marriage, and careful thought and consideration, we have decided to part ways," they said in a joint statement released by their publicists. "This is the mutual decision of two people with an enormous amount of respect and admiration for each other."

Hopefully she'll find someone else to marry who can afford to buy her some new clothes ... she's obviously outgrown that sweater and skirt (the skirt looks like it has a tear in it too).

A friend of mine who knows that Nick dude says they broke up over a year ago, but delayed the announcement because the breakup occurred during one of their holiday tv specials. I know the mainstream press has gone downhill over the last several years, but I thought the gossip media was a lot betterr than investigating people's lives than they actually are :o

It was bound to happen. You can go so far in marriage with cleavage power. The best set of boobs will eventually get old after so much use. At some point personality and brains has to kick in to keep things going.

Obviously you have never lived in Hollywood. There is such a thing as plastic surgery

Simpson cited irreconcilable differences in a divorce petition filed in Los Angeles Superior Court. The couple had no prenuptial agreement and in the petition, Simpson asked the court not to grant Lachey spousal support.

They have no children.

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
