Jane Fonda to Oppose Iraq War on Bus Tour

janefonda.jpgSANTA FE, N.M. - Actress and activist Jane Fonda says she intends to take a cross-country bus tour to call for an end to U.S. military operations in Iraq.

"I can't go into any detail except to say that it's going to be pretty exciting," she said.

Fonda said her anti-war tour in March will use a bus that runs on "vegetable oil." She will be joined by families of Iraq war veterans and her daughter.

I don't have heavy disdain for her, but whenever I see the image of her sitting on a North Vietnamese anti-aircraft gun, I think to myself "Why the fuck did you do that? What's the point?".

In reality, my contempt is more of the fact that she's just another generic celebrity "activist" (i.e. she's bored and now she's playing little miss protestor again).

Really, why would anyone give a shit what she does?

Those Georgia rednecks (besides being misguided fools) are really wasting their hatred. They should just shoot some cans to let off steam; maybe shove some corn up their asses or something.

Who knows, maybe their rectums will bleed and they will die of blood loss, thus eliminating their dumb Bush vote in the next election.

I agreed with Jane Fonda about Vietnam. I think she is wrong this time.

Despite her lapse of judgment in N Vietnam, she was right about VietNam and she is right about Iraq

That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
