Let it be with Paul, Ringo declares

Recommended Posts

ringostarr.jpgFormer Beatle Ringo Starr has declared he will never share a stage with fellow former Beatle Paul McCartney.

The legendary drummer flatly ruled out the prospect when asked whether the pair would consider joining forces in a nod to the old times, according to a report on an entertainment website.

"I haven't toured with Paul since '65," he told US show Access Hollywood.

"We're never going to do it. We are not going to tour together. I go with my band, he goes with his."

The 64-year-old, who played to a sell-out crowd in New York on Sunday, also said he had no intention of retiring.

"The blessing of being a musician is you can go until you drop," he said.

"As long as I can hold those damn sticks, I'll be fine. I might be playing the blues, but I'll be fine."

Channel them? Or, have John and George's son's fill in (jk) It won't be a Beatles reunion, no matter what. But, it would be fun to see Paul and Ringo perform together again.

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
