  1. In honor of Martin Luther King, Motel de Moka has put together a terrific hip hop and electronic mix of songs. I have taken the liberty of reposting their Peter Gabriel remix here, which is layered under one of Dr. King's civil rights speeches -- and I highly recommend you visit their website at Motel de Moka for their full musical tribute. Last but not least, a video of Dr. King's famous "I Have A Dream Speech" is posted in its entirety in the next post, followed by two speeches by Barack Obama. Enjoy. 01. 2. Here you have an artist who has all this acclaim - just made a brilliant record with a country artists - and he has to spend his time trashing other musicians? What's the point and why should he choose what others should hear in a public bar? BTW, I never thought Capt. Beefheart was that brilliant and I stupidly bought his records way back when - its not exactly bar music, or party music... The whole thing is stupid.

She "dreamed" up the event in October 2002, began planning the event in November 2002, and had the event in February 2003. It took on a "life of its own" and now Entertainment Attorney Dedra Davis has turned this brainchild into a trademarked yearly event. Read More
  4. Roy Buchanan (September 23, 1939 - August 14, 1988) is a legendary American blues/rock guitarist from Washington, D.C. His weapon of choice was Fender's Telecaster. According to Wikipedia "(high) from John Lennon, Eric Clapton, Merle Haggard, and an alleged invitation to join the Rolling Stones, Buchanan gained national notoriety as the result of an hour-long Public broadcasting television documentary. Entitled "The Best Unknown Guitarist In The World", the show rejuvenated a contract with Polydor and began a decade of national and international touring. He recorded five albums for Polydor (one went gold) and three for Atlantic Records (one gold), while playing most major rock concert halls and festivals. Finally, Buchanan quit recording in 1981, vowing never to enter a studio again unless he could record his own music his own way." His performance here was probably from the 80s...

  11. British Sea Power are a four-man indie rock band based in Brighton, England. This rousing pro-immigration song, from their new cd, "Do You Like Rock Music", is currently #31 on the charts. Available at Amazon

  14. because i read everything during that time period and was a fan of the script. i would probably have seen danny boy's script if it was around...his film was made around 2002...i saw just about everything in the 90s
  15. Replaced the old video with a new one.... I like this album:
  16. i think its for real - it was on the front of the riaa website. not a big fan either; when i worked at a record store, it was the bosses favorite record... he listened to hotel california forever not a big hater--some of their stuff is ok, but i dont like that album
  17. Not true. The script was around long before Danny Boyle's film was made - I know the writer and the script has been sitting on my book shelf (its dated 11/96). FYI, it's not unusual for similar subject matter to be found in different movies, because usually the concepts are in everyone's subconscious; just a trend or sorts.
  18. The script was pretty good, but I'm not interested in seeing the movie. On another note, the playoff football games today were great - I actually had several invites to get togethers to watch the games.. I'm hangin' out at a friend's house on Monday - some business, some play.
