  1. Drake has been celebrating the premiere of Top Boy, his latest cinematic project. The rapper has partnered with Netflix to revive the popular, gritty U.K. series, and on the day that it's released to the masses, Drake has also dropped the soundtrack to season three. The album sonically pairs with the theme of Top Boy perfectly while highlighting a bevy of talented British artists. "I became really attached to the characters," he told BBC Radio 1 about Top Boy. "There's a lot of parallels between Toronto and London. It reminded me of people I grew up with and guys that I know. I really just felt super connected right away, but then it disappeared on me. I did my research and found out it had been ultimately canceled." The soundtrack features artists including Nafe Smallz, Fredo, Headie One, Baka, Giggs, M Huncho, Youngs Teflon, Dave, SL, Popcaan, Quada, AJ Tracey, Ghetts, Avelino, Little Simz, Teeway, and of course, Drake. Check it out and let us know what you think. Tracklist 1. Riding On E - Nafe Smallz 2. Freddy - Fredo 3. Hard To Believe - Headie One 4. My Town - Baka Ft. Giggs 5. One Summer - M Huncho 6. Overseer - Youngs Teflon 7. Professor X - Dave 8. 100 Thoughts - SL 9. Billions - Popcaan ft. Quada 10. Elastic - AJ Tracey 11. Listen - Ghetts 12. Belly of the Beast -Avelino 13. 2. Lil West dazzled us back in March of this year with his EP VEX Part 1 which introduced fans to his dark and moody trap style. The album left such an impression on us, that we included it as part of our "Best Albums of the Mid-Year" list. Simply put, West brings a grunge rock attitude to the genre and it's evident when it comes to his delivery and approach to songwriting. On his follow-up project VEX Part 2, West expands on the themes of his first tape but creates a more fleshed out pocket for himself. With the eight tracks below, the Delaware rapper establishes himself as one of the best up and coming artists in the game. The EP starts with the song "Bad" where West admits to his wrongdoings in a relationship. He's never been shy to rap about deep emotional issues on his songs and VEX Part 2 is an extension of that. With the next track "Want Love" featuring Calboy, West gets in his emotional bag once again as he pines for a functional relationship. These themes are presented throughout the album and are complemented by dark, atmospheric trap beats that will have you nodding your head and thinking about your ex. At 8 tracks and 20 minutes long, VEX Part 2 is a great project to just vibe out to. View the full article
  3. Lloyd Banks's recent tweet sparked a discussion on The Joe Budden Podcast. Last week, a fan of the former G-Unit rapper asked when he would be releasing new music. Banks replied by writing, "Let’s be real..ain’t nobody checking for banks anymore." This sparked an onslaught of support for the rapper, causing him to assure the public that he was just joking with his previous comment. However, there are some who don't believe that Banks was kidding around at all. Budden, along with his podcast co-hosts Rory and Mal, chatted about the state of hip hop and if there's room for veteran rappers who have been silent for years to return to the rap game. The answer is yes, but Budden says that "dinosaurs" such as Banks would need to put in more work than others in order to get a buzz going. Also, while it is true that Banks hasn't put out a studio album since 2010, he's been steadily releasing mixtapes for years. His last dropped in 2016 and he was featured on Dave East's Paranoia 2 mixtape which was released in 2018. "I don't feel like an artist, rapper, should ever get to this point," Budden said of Banks's tweet. "It's almost our job to not ever get to this point...To see him say it...To see him not only say it, but to say it to someone who is asking for new music is telling. It was f*cked up to me. This is the one guy, who, you're never gonna think he's doing something for attention or trolling or clout chasing. He's serious if he says something." Nevertheless, there was enough uproar that Banks fans are now awaiting his next project but the rapper just tweeted, " they gotta relax." Check out the full, and interesting, The Joe Budden Podcast conversation below. View the full article

  18. It's hard to keep up with all the drama that transpires on 50 Cent's Instagram account, but you may have noticed several posts over the past few weeks regarding the Power theme song. When the 50-produced show returned for it's sixth and final season this summer, Twitter was sent into an uproar over a vocalist-switch in the opening credits. The song's theme, "Big Rich Town", which was originally sung by Joe, now featured Trey Songz. While Trey Songz is loved by many, people can become very rigid in their TV rituals and don't want to see any curveballs six seasons deep. The angered masses took to Twitter, as they usually do, and expressed their dismay to hear Trey during their Power time every Sunday. Fiddy heard them loud and clear and, unfortunately, so did Trey. After teasing and taunting fans for a bit, Fiddy promised to bring back the show's initial theme. Last night, the season's third episode was ushered in by the voice of none other than the beloved Joe. Viewers tweeted their gratitude and also took another opportunity to poke fun at Trey Songz. Hopefully, they won't hurt his feelings again because he doesn't deserve it! Check out the Twitter reactions below. View the full article
  19. If Antonio Brown is still looking for a spot to crash as he moves his things from Oakland to New England, Patriots quarterback Tom Brady is ready to welcome him with open arms. Following the Patriots' dominant 33-3 victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday night, Brady told reporters that Brown has an open invite to stay at his home. "I'd love for him to stay at my house," Brady told USA Today's Jarrett Bell after the New England Patriots' 33-3 Week 1 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers. "He's got a lot of stuff going on, but if he wants to, he's welcome." It's unclear if Brady was referring to his Brookline, Massachusetts mansion or the 2,400-square foot guest house that's situated on the five-acre property, but it's obvious the Pats are going to do everything to make AB feel right at home. Brown agreed to a one-year deal worth up to $15 million with the Patriots on Saturday, just days after he was released by the Oakland Raiders. The four time All Pro receiver requested his release after the team voided his nearly $30 million in guarantees, as a result of numerous off-the-field issues, including his spat with GM Mike Mayock. AB didn't suit up for the Patriots in Week 1 and it's terrifying to think what that offense will look like when he gets added into the mix. Brady torched the Steelers from the jump last night, finishing with 341 yards, three touchdowns and zero interceptions while the defense limited Pittsburgh to just a field goal. The Pats will head to Miami in Week 2, as they take on an atrocious Dolphins team that surrendered 59 points to the Baltimore Ravens in their home-opener. View the full article
  20. One of the most highly-anticipated sneakers of the year is the Travis Scott x Air Jordan 6 which hopes to build upon what La Flame has already done with Jordan Brand. This latest shoe takes the beloved AJ6 to a whole new level by dressing it in Olive suede and glow-in-the-dark midsole. There are even stash pockets near the cuff which makes it all that much more unique. Sneakerheads have been salivating over this shoe for a while now and with a rumored release date of this Saturday, anticipation seems to be growing even more. While only adult sizes have been shown off so far, it appears as though kids will be able to get their hands on this shoe as well. Thanks to @zsneakerheadz, we now have some of the official images for the Grade School sizes that will be releasing. As you can imagine, the shoe looks a lot smaller and the cuff is cut a little bit shorter. Just like the other Travis Scott x Jordan Brand collabs, this will be limited so expect some trouble trying to cop. We will also be sure to update you on the release date as it doesn't seem to be set in stone right now. Will you be trying to cop these for the young ones in your life? View the full article
  21. Chicago rapper Juice WRLD quickly became one of the most popular faces in hip-hop last year, breaking onto the scene with his hit singles "Lucid Dreams" and "All Girls Are The Same." After a collaborative effort with Future and his follow-up album at the top of this year, he appears to be slowing things down a touch. The recording artist has been posting plenty of reminders that he's happily in love now, no longer needing to croon about his relationship problems. However, if anybody that supports him has been going through some shit, he's inviting them to reach out to him via text message. There are several ways you can get in contact with an artist these days and many of them entail social media. You can cross your fingers and hope that a celebrity manages to come across your direct message or, if you're less of a keener, you might be satisfied just sliding into their mentions. Somebody like Juice WRLD knows that his fanbase is a little more on the sensitive side. Given his lyrical content, it only makes sense. If anybody has been struggling with their own inner thoughts, Juice wants to hear from you. Enough so that he even gave out his phone number today. "Let’s talk about everything and i promise i won’t leave you on read," wrote the star rapper after handing out his personal contact information in the caption. Of course, this move is a little questionable. He will likely be getting a ton of messages for the next few days but it is a nice initiative to give back to those that have helped him grow. Shout out to Juice WRLD. View the full article
  22. Last year's Kids See Ghosts, the product of Kid Cudi and Kanye West's creative partnership, emerged as a fan favorite. Largely seen as a Surgical Summer highlight, the seven-song project seemed to reinvigorate both parties on a creative level, with Kanye turning in some of his best rapping in years. More importantly, however, was the return to form for Cudi, who has been elusive at the best of times. Today, Cudi linked up with legendary fashion designer and icon NIGO, who spoke with the artist by way of a translator. Michael Hickey/Getty Images “There will be more Kids See Ghosts albums," reveals Cudi, around the 19-minute mark. "Kanye already told me he wants to start working on the second one. It's kind of weird, with the first album I didn't know how serious he was about making a collab album with me. He had mentioned it, but I thought it was just a good idea he had in the moment. But then he kept bringing it up, having me come to his house to listen to music, work on beats. I thought, he's really into this." As for the sequel, Cudi teases something in keeping with Kanye's recent stylistic direction. "We had a discussion where he said he wanted to make a spiritual album and I told him, ‘Great. That’s what I do. I would love to do that, something I can sink my teeth into,'" he explains. "So there will definitely be more.” Before that, however, Cudi will likely be dropping off both his Entergalatic album and the accompanying Netflix series. He reveals that the former will largely center around his perspective on love, something his fans have yet to truly understand. "A lot of the songs are about love and relationships," he teases. "It's purely written from my imagination, writing as this character." Check out the full video below, and sound off - are you eager for some new Kid Cudi? View the full article
  23. On August 31st, an 84-year-old woman by the name of Afaf Anis Assad was at the Pechanga Resort Casino in Southern California when she was allegedly followed into the bathroom by two women who beat her and robbed her. Last week on September 4th, Assad died from the injuries she sustained during the attack and according to the Los Angeles Times, two women have been arrested and charged in connection with the attack. These two women are Candace Townsel and Kimesha Williams who are both reportedly from Moreno Valley. In the report, it was revealed that Williams is the sister of NBA star Kawhi Leonard. Williams is currently being held at the Indio Jail without bail. Her association with Leonard had authorities feeling as though she could make bail which is why it was originally set at $100 Million. The report states how Williams has been charged with first-degree robbery and murder and will get her day in court on Thursday, September 19th. Leonard has always been pretty private about his family life so it is no surprise that he has yet to comment on this news. The two-time NBA champion is set to play for the Los Angeles Clippers this season. Stay tuned for updates on this case as we will be sure to bring them to you. View the full article
  24. Last night, 50 Cent finally made his directorial debut, running the show behind-the-scenes on the latest episode of Power. The iconic New York rapper has been slowly infiltrating the world of television and film and this week was a big step for him, snapping the director's clapper and ensuring that things happened his way. After the episode aired, the superstar took to social media to brag about how good he's feeling, telling everyone that it may be time to step away from STARZ altogether. JC Olivera/Getty Images "Now that I’m a big director and all, STARZ can’t afford to pay me to do another episode of POWER," joked the first-time director. "I think I’ll do the next MARVEL MOVIE. if it doesn’t require to much of my time. LOL." With Marvel's extensive slate of upcoming releases being revealed a few weeks ago, 50 Cent has a shot if he wants to throw his name in the hat for one of them. However, his relative lack of directorial experience may sway the major studio to look elsewhere. Still, after last night's episode of Power, we're sure some people will be rooting for him to continue sitting in the director's chair. Do you think he'd be a good fit for future projects in that capacity or should he stick to entertaining in front of the camera? View the full article
  25. For the first time in ages, Cleveland Browns fans entered Week 1 with a real sense of hope and optimism about the upcoming season. And then, they got steamrolled by the Tennessee Titans. The Browns teased fans at the Dawg Pound on Sunday by getting out to an early 6-0 lead, only to get outscored 43-7 the rest of the way, as the Titans cruised to a 43-13 victory on the road. Second-year QB Baker Mayfield threw for 285 yards and a touchdown, but he also chucked three interceptions, while the defense surrendered nearly 400 yards of offense to Marcus Mariota and co. After the game, Titans tight end Delanie Walker pulled a page out of Denny Green's book when asked about the much-hyped Browns team. Says Walker, "They were who we thought they were." According to ESPN Stats & Info, Sunday's loss to Tennessee marks Cleveland's 15th straight Week 1 loss. The Browns will travel to MetLife Stadium in Week 2, as they take on the New York Jets on Monday Night. Despite their uninspiring play in the home-opener, Mayfield assured fans that they'll quickly turn things around. “Quite frankly I don’t give a damn what happens on the outside,” he said (H/T USA Today). “I know how we will react. I know what we are going to do – we are going to bounce back. We have a Monday Night Game coming up.” View the full article
