  3. It's safe to say that Lyfe Jennings wanted to release his final album, 777, in peace, but his single "Slave" has ruffled a few feathers. The R&B crooner shared his latest effort last month, and the album, of course, is charged with grown-folks-baby-making music. Although "Slave" was released weeks ago, the single picked up traction after The Breakfast Club's Charlamagne Tha God and comedian-social commentator Amada Seales shared their distaste for the track. Amanda shared the song with the lyrics on her Instagram Story while making disapproving faces throughout each clip. The singer likens sex to slavery with lyrics like, "I’m gon’ beat it like a slave / so you don’t run away / cut the whips and chains / call me master." Charlamagne posted a clip of Amanda's Instagram story to his page and cracked jokes about the song, and let's just say, Lyfe didn't appreciate it. "You know what's weird is that y'all know that Lyfe done put out positive music my whole career. They ain't never supported my stuff," he said. "You ain't never supported Boomerang, you ain't never supported S.E.X., you ain't never supported all that good music I did for black people, and then you're gonna try and put something like this on your page? That's what's wrong with you black folks right now, you always wanna grasp on to the most negative but you can't support the good." He went on to apologize to anyone he offended while also mentioning that Charlamagne shouldn't even mention his name because of his "cases." He's most likely referring to the radio host's 2001 case where he was accused of raping a 15-year-old. Charlamagne responded to Lyfe's criticisms and addressed him on The Breakfast Club's "Rumor Report." He said that he didn't even know that it was Lyfe singing the song. "I just thought the song was wack," Charlamagne said. "The lyrics were so trash! How can he say we don't support him? We've interview Lyfe on The Breakfast Club. If Lyfe wanted to come up here now he could. But to be clear: Lyfe, I don't care about you singing about sex. I didn't think the song was negative. I just thought the song was wack. I thought it was so wack I had no idea it was you, because you, my guy, are better than that." View the full article
  4. Fantasia Barrino's life has endured quite a few ups and downs, many of which occurred before she stepped into the spotlight in 2004 on American Idol. Her career, along with her love life, has experienced hills and valleys, but the married mother of two is back with new music and a fresh outlook on life. The 35-year-old recently sat down with The Breakfast Club to talk about her highs and lows, and the conversation turned into a discourse about relationships. Fantasia believes that there are too many women who are trying to take on a man's role when they should yield and submit to their partners. "Most women are trying to be the leader. That's why you can't find a man," she said. "You can't be the king in the house. Fall back and be the queen and let your man lead the way." She added that a woman being the leader in her household isn't how things are supposed to be. "That's why we bump heads. I feel like it's a generational thing. We can go real deep on that, but it's a generational curse and how society have placed our men and women have to stand up and be the mother and the father." She goes on to say that women become so independent that when a man does come their way looking for a romantic relationship, the woman comes across as too masculine. "You have to find how to submit. You can still be a queen," Fantasia added. "The queen plays a part. The king needs his queen. There's certain things that he can't see that we see." 5. No Limit CEO Master P makes business moves as if he doesn't already have a full plate. The rap mogul is busy with music, film, charitable causes, and philanthropic efforts, but recently he took his food business interests to a new level. If you made your trek to theaters this summer and saw P's I Got the Hook Up 2, then you may have noticed that there was a burger restaurant featured in the movie. That may have been a fictionalized burger joint, but Percy Miller has created the real thing in New Orleans with his restaurant, Big Poppa Burgers. According to Nola.com, Big Poppa Burgers is inspired by P's grandfather and the memories he has of spending time with his patriarch around the grill. P wants everyone who visits his corner-placed, mom-and-pop-style establishment to feel as if they are an extension of his bloodline. "My family loves to cook," he said. "As a kid, hamburgers were my favorite food. It was the way my grandfather cooked them up. I’d always watch him. He seasoned it well, he grilled it well, he put some sauce on there, that was a perfect burger.” Don't be surprised if you see a Big Poppas Burgers in a city near you, as P is always thinking ahead when it comes to making business moves. “I started out in the music business, but my longevity is about creating brands and businesses, and you utilize your power to promote all your brands,” he stated. “You only can do that if you own something. This is about having a family restaurant and putting that business in the community where you come from.” View the full article
  6. Billie Eilish has always been authentically herself in her music and the way she chooses to dress. Her baggy wardrobe and sick sneaker attire have always been her usual aesthetic and she's showed no signs of changing who is she for anybody. "I never want the world to know everything about me," Billie previously stated. “That’s why I wear baggy clothes. Nobody can have an opinion because they haven’t seen what’s underneath. Nobody can be like, ‘she’s slim-thick,’ ‘she’s not slim-thick,’ ‘she’s got a flat ass,’ ‘she’s got a fat ass.’ No one can say any of that because they don’t know.” Scott Dudelson/Getty Images While Billie is sure about her choice, it's clear that she's getting tired of the trolls who've had the audacity to suggest Billie throw on some tight-fitting clothing. In her latest share to Instagram, the "Bad Guy" singer has responded to the haters who keep going after her for her fashion moves. "If only I dressed normal id be so much hotter yeah yeah come up with a better comment I'm tired of that one," Billie wrote. Billie recently called out Nylon magazine for using a topless photo of her without her consent that featured her in a creative way she and her team didn't sign off too. “ANNNDDD YOU’RE GONNA REMOVE ALL MY FUCKIN HAIR? Boooooooooo to you ," Billie added. Don't mess with Billie. View the full article
  7. Jordan Brand reportedly has plans to release another Michigan-inspired Air Jordan 12 this Holiday season, following up the "Inspire" Air Jordan 5 that dropped earlier this summer and the Michigan Air Jordan 12 that debuted last year. Images of the latest Wolverines-themed Air Jordan 12 have not yet surfaced, but they could look like the mockup embedded below, based off the "White/Amarillo/Metallic Gold/Midnight Navy" color scheme. On top of that, Air Jordan 12 fans can look forward to the highly anticipated "Reverse Taxi" colorway for November. With all three of those 12s on track for September, October and November, it wouldn't be a surprise if Jordan Brand closes out the year with the all-new Michigan version in December. We'll just have to wait and see - stay tuned for more info. View the full article
  8. Sometimes, honesty is the best policy. While the truth may hurt somebody's feelings, it's always better for them to hear it from someone they love then to realize they made a mistake afterwards. Kim Kardashian is one of the most famous people in the world and, as a result of her celebrity, she always needs to think twice about the outfits she wears to high-profile events. A mainstay at the annual Met Gala in New York City, Kardashian opted for a latex Thierry Mugler dress this year but if it were up to her sister Kourtney, the garment would have found its way onto a Halloween rack. Pierre Suu/Getty Images "I was thinking about wearing this to your 40th birthday party," said Kim while showing off the outfit on the most recent episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians. According to The Mirror, Kourtney came back with a laugh and an insult. "Are you coming as Nicki Minaj?" asked her sister, comparing the look to one of Minaj's famous latex get-ups. Kim was privately pretty enraged. "I've been planning my Met look since last year, and she was so rude in front of the whole Mugler team...it's all super-embarrassing," she said. Do you think the jab was deserved? View the full article
  9. Wendy Williams has kicked off a new season of her self-titled talk show and her debut proved she's back and better considering the drama that took over her life in the last season. As we all know, Wendy's husband Kevin Hunter cheated on Wendy (for the second time) and got his mistress pregnant. The series of events forced Wendy to check into a sober living home, file for divorce, fire Kevin from his executive producer role and wipe his presence clean from the show's set. Astrid Stawiarz/Getty Images For the debut episode of season 11, Wendy dropped off a little bit of shade to her soon to be official ex when it came to the credits. When the credits for the episode rolled and the “Executive Producer” role was listed and the remarks read: “Just Wendy.” Wendy has previously admitted that while she's hurt by Kevin's actions, he will always be her family and she won't trash talk him to the public. "I talk filthy about him, but that is when I get in my apartment and the door is closed and I am talking to myself in the mirror. I never thought that I would be in this position. I’m a very forgiving person, but there’s one thing that I could never be a part of, and that one thing happened," she said. View the full article
  10. Blac Youngsta might be known as hip-hop's resident joker but there are layers to his character that are often found in his music. The rapper's readying the release of his forthcoming project, Church On Sundays which he's been teasing for a minute. Today, he returned with the latest single off of the project titled, "Start A Fire." On his new song, Blac Youngsta flexes his melodies a little bit more than usual while detailing his life and how it's changed with success. Blac Youngsta seems to be trying to go outside of his own comfort zone on his latest tracks which could make for a great album. "Start A Fire" arrives shortly after the rapper released "Certified" which arrived earlier this month. Keep your eyes for Church On Sunday. 11. Megan Thee Stallion's been having a Hot Girl Year and she isn't slowing down. She dominated the summer and now, fans are patiently waiting for the release of her next project. It's unsure when the project will drop -- hopefully, this year -- but it seems like she's keeping her lips sealed on who to expect on the album with the exception of one person. Dimitrios Kambouris/Getty Images Megan Thee Stallion caught up with Variety at Rihanna's Diamond Ball where she dished out a bit of information on what to expect from her in the future. Now, we all know she's one of the most sought after artists right now and many people are trying to get a verse from her. She didn't reveal who's been trying to get a verse but she did reveal that her project's in the works and she'll have some special guests. “Yeah, I’m working on a new project and I have a lot of ladies on there, so just be on the lookout," she said. While the interviewer tried to press her on any information, Meg declined to respond but she did reveal that she'll have a certain Bay Area singer-songwriter on the project. “I can let this cat of the bag. Me and Kehlani have music together, and I love her," she said. Maybe with the Kehlani feature on deck, she can work out a two-for-one deal and get YG on the project as well. View the full article
  12. Kanye West and Adidas may be gearing up to release the Adidas Yeezy Boost 350 V3 in the very near future but there are still a handful of Yeezy Boost 350 V2s in the works. Among them, the "Citrin" and "Cloud" iterations - both of which are scheduled to release in the next week. Additionally, two unique colorways dubbed "Yecheil" and "Yeehu" are rumored to arrive this Holiday season. Images of the kicks in question have not yet been revealed but the mockups that have surfaced suggest the sneakers will come equipped with multi-colored knit uppers. As seen in the photoshop above, the "Yecheil" Yeezy Boost 350 V2 will reportedly come equipped with a black base, supported by a greenish yellow knit as well as hits of red and blue. Yecheil reportedly stems from the Hebrew name Yechiel, which means 'May God Live.' Rumors suggest the kicks will be launching on December 15, but Adidas has not yet made any official announcement. Take a look at both the "Yechiel" and "Yeehu" mockups below and stay tuned for more details. Adidas Yeezy Boost 350 V2 Yechiel/HouseofHeat View the full article

  18. Russ has taken the negativity from his opposition and used it as motivation to craft his latest single, "Rent Free." The rapper has often shared inspirational messages on his social media pages in an effort to help his millions of followers switch their focus onto things that are productive, and it seems that "Rent Free" is yet another vessel. On the track, Russ raps about how those that see themselves as his foes spend more time worried about what he's doing that paying attention to their own crumbling lives. It's easier to hate on somebody else who is busy elevating when you're unhappy with yourself or your surroundings. Also on Russ's agenda is the release of his forthcoming inspirational book, IT'S ALL IN YOUR HEAD, that he previously shared would hit shelves on November 12. Until then, check out Russ's "Rent Free" and let us know if it's a bop. 19. The last time Lil Nas X dropped a single, it stayed at the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 100 chart for a record 19 weeks and has remixes for its remix. Bill Ray Cyrus helped catapult "Old Town Road" into record-breaking, country-rap music history, so we'll all have to wait and see if DaBaby can do the same for Lil Nas X's latest single, "Panini." The track comes from the young rapper's June release titled 7, an EP that preludes his debut studio album. It was met with warm reviews from fans who were happy to hear what else Lil Nas X had to offer. The pop-rapper's "Panini" is nothing like "Old Town Road," as it's a much more radio-friendly single, and it manages to stay that way, even DaBaby on the track. With its release also comes a new music video courtesy of Chowder, so check it out and let us know how Lil Nas X and DaBaby do as collaborators. 20. He's been enjoying his time making the rounds at New York Fashion Week and was even spotted on the black carpet for Rihanna's Savage x Fenty show, but on Friday, A Boogie wit da Hoodie brought the attention back to himself. The 23-year-old rapper has shared a new single titled "Mood Swings," a pensive track where he half-sings and half-raps throughout. The song bounces back and forth between speaking about his sexual conquests and being somewhat introspective. A Boogie raps about hooking up with women in one line but then moves on to cautionary tales about the company he keeps because they're wolves in sheep's clothing in the next. That's quite possibly the essence of "Mood Swings," so check it out for yourself and let us know what you think of A Boogie's latest effort. Quotable Lyrics I'm so caught out of line Adderall in her ice Lost my bro, lost my mind Want my soul, n*ggas want my life Tryna' take my hoes, tryna f*ck my wife Mood swings, sometimes I need two at a time F*kin' two set of twins, ain't one of them shy View the full article
  21. Have you ever just put on an album as background music because it isn't anything that you particularly need to pay attention to lyrically, but the music sounds nice? This isn't that album. On Friday, Conway The Machine delivered his EP Look What I Became, and it's a record that you need to sit with and absorb for all 28 minutes as the lyricist commands attention from start to finish. Fans have been patiently waiting for Conway to drop his forthcoming project God Don't Make Mistakes, but in the meantime, he gives us this teaser to whet our musical appetites. His brother and fellow rapper Westside Gunn makes an appearance on the record, along with Jim Jones, Dave East, El Camino, Benny, DJ Muggs, and Amber Simone. 22. Over the summer, Gucci Mane released his project Delusions of Grandeur and while that album has only been out for three months, the Atlanta rapper is back with new music not featured on the record. On his latest single, Guwop links with North Carolina's DaBaby and Lousiana's YoungBoy Never Broke Again to deliver "Richer Than Errybody." The song is one of those tracks with a perfect cruising vibe—or it will make you want to spend money you don't have. The trio of rappers complement each other on this record and while their vocals are distinctive, no one artist overpowers another. We're expecting to hear more from NBA YoungBoy now that he's been released from jail and on house arrest. The young artist may not be able to perform live as a condition of his release, but he is allowed to record at his home studio. DaBaby is on fire right now as his star has continued to rise throughout 2019, so let us know if he, along with Gucci and YoungBoy, have a banger with this one. Quotable Lyrics I'm not in the NBA but I be ballin' on b*tches Gotta carry credit cards my cash to big for my britches Yeah I came up out the trenches I don't f*ck wit no snitches N*ggas stay trippin' 'til some of they friends come up missin' View the full article
  23. After a series of delays, Ghostface Killah has finally dropped his highly-anticipated record Ghostface Killahs on all streaming platforms. It's a mini-Wu-Tang reunion as members Cappadonna, Method Man, Inspectah Deck, and Masta Killa make appearances on the New York streetwise album, along with Ghostface's firstborn, Sun God. There are other artists who lend their vocals, as well, including Harley, Shawn Wigs, Solomon Childs, and Eamon. The album is reminiscent of the Wu, but not in a way that comes off as repetitive or obnoxious. Ghostface is in his element on Ghostface Killahs as he delivers witty punchlines and displays lyrical prowess, reminding the rap world that how an artist uses his or her pen separates the fly by night rapper from the career longevity of an emcee. Ghostface Killahs clocks in at just about 30 minutes with 14 tracks (that includes two skits), so you'll be able to easily give this one a spin quite a few times. Leave your thoughts about the album below. Tracklist 1. Killah Intro 2. Me Denny & Darryl (feat. Method Man & Cappadonna) 3. Burner to Burner (feat. Inspectah Deck & Cappadonna) 4. Flex feat. 24. OVO Sound may be responsible for curating the music on the Top Boy soundtrack, but that doesn't mean that you'll find Drake appearances throughout the album. The rapper is featured on one song, "Behind Barz," that's listed as a bonus track at the end of the record. If it sounds familiar, it may be because Drake previously spit his "Behind Barz" freestyle in 2018 for Link Up TV. After amassing tens of millions of views on YouTube, it was only fitting that Drake drop his unreleased freestyle and re-record it for his fans. There are a few lines in there that may take aim at other rappers, but it's certainly difficult to speculate. Make sure to check out the Top Boy soundtrack here and let us know if Drake brought the heat on "Behind Barz." Quotable Lyrics I know so much sh*t that I cannot expose I keep it inside and I laugh on my own Got all the tea and I'm hottin' it up I need a shade mansion, a room's not enough You're droppin' some sh*t but that sh*t was a bust They got no direction, they're followin' us View the full article
