  1. As we reported earlier this month, Johnny Depp lost his job in the Harry Potter prequel franchise Fantastic Beasts. Depp lost his job in the series amid the ongoing ugly divorce and subsequent lawsuits surrounding the acrimonious split between him and Amber Heard. Although, it appears that Heard is doing just fine. Warner Bros. must still proceed with the film, and it is now being reported that Mads Mikkelsen will fill his role. As reported by IndieWire, Mads Mikkelsen will take the role of Gellert Grindelwald. The evil wizard is known to have had a brief romantic relationship of some kind with Albus Dumbledore, and in the lore of the series, the two have one of the most historic duels of all time. It is during this duel when Dumbledore wins the Elder Wand from Grindelwald, which is heavily connected to the finale of the Harry Potter series. The third Fantastic Beasts film, starring Eddie Redmayne and Jude Law, is currently in production and is shooting for a Summe 2022 release after covid procedures forced the studio to push the release date back. How do you feel about Depp losing his job? Is Mikkelsen a good replacement? Sound off in the comments below. View the full article
  2. Zo Morese continues on his overly productive 2020 with another new single, entitled "G.O.A.T." While the title may be a bold claim, and one that has become somewhat trite in the hip-hop world, it's hard to argue with his work ethic. The enigmatic and energetic new single features a playful instrumental that finds strength in colorful xylophone sounding synths and a punchy percussion. As the name suggests, "G.O.A.T" is a braggadocious track that walks the thin line between hip-hop and pop. Zo croons in a rugged auto-tune filter that accentuates the rasp of his tone. This smooth track is an easy listen, and is sure to ride throughout the winter. Let us know what you think about "G.O.A.T" below. Quotable Lyrics I'm the GOAT Uh, you not a goat, you a ghost Nowhere to be found but do the most Fronting for the gram we see your post Bad full of bread I got the toast View the full article
  3. Juicy J is a legend in the game. It's been a few years since he dropped off a studio album, but the Trippy King has returned with The Hustle Continues. The project runs for 16-tracks, and features guest appearances by Wiz Khalifa, Megan thee Stallion, Ty Dolla $ign, A$AP Rocky, Project Pat, Lil Baby, 2 Chainz, Jay Rock, Logic, Young Dolph, NLE Choppa, Conway, and Keyglock. The Hustle Continues is released via eOne. The President of Urban Music over at eOne, Alan Grunblatt, stated that he is “thrilled to be working with Juicy J again.” Grunblatt originally signed Three 6 Mafia to their first record dead. “I first worked with him back in the Three 6 Mafia days and I am so proud of his success. He is an amazing, multi-faceted artist, rapper, writer, and producer.” “Alan gave Three 6 Mafia our first deal, he believed in me then and he believes in what I’m doing today as an artist, and as a producer," replied Juicy J. "It made the most sense to release The Hustle Continues independently and eOne gave me the best deal where I own 100% of my masters.” Stream the new album and let us know what you think. 4. John Travolta and Samuel L. Jackson combined to create one of the most iconic movie duos of all time in Pulp Fiction. Now, they are reuniting to create a funny holiday ad. The two veteran actors teamed up for a Captial One commercial, a company for which Jackson has been working with for years now. In the commercial, Travolta plays Santa Clause. Santa is shopping online for his elve's Christmas presents, but is a little alarmed by the price. It's most likely safe to say that this will be an extra hard holiday season for many of us. That's when Jackson appears on his computer screen and informs him that Capital One cards will search for coupons for your carted items and automatically applies them to orders when you checkout. That sounds pretty handy. After giving the helpful information, Jackson asks if he could be taken off the naughty list. That doesn't seem like it's going to happen, since he loves those naughty words, says Santa. The commercial is a cute holiday combo that brings two of America's favorite veteran actors back on screen together. It may not be Pulp Fiction 2, but it's all we got. Happy holidays everyone! 5. Blueface's antics are well known to the hip-hop world. The young rapper has never seemed to give a damn about what people think about him, and he continues to make this apparent. Blueface and his 3-year-old son Javaughn took a cool drive down the block recently, and the rapper filmed the entire experience. Fans began to criticize his parenting because Javaughn is in his father's lap, seemingly driving the car. Obviously, Blueface must have his hand on the steering wheel as well. However, the internet began to disparage Blueface because of the lack of safety overall. Having a child on your lap while driving, not strapped in, is wildly dangerous. "Niggas dead be trying to get they kids taken away," wrote one Twitter user. "Was hoping he was a better father than rapper but he trash at both. Put him in a car seat," wrote another. Blueface and his baby mother have been on and off since high school, but they seem to have a good relationship when it comes to co-parenting duties. Do you think Blueface is being reckless here, or do you think the Twitter-verse is overreacting? Let us know in the comments below. View the full article
  6. This past week has been a difficult one for the Baltimore Ravens as numerous players and members of the coaching staff have tested positive for COVID-19. In fact, the Ravens were supposed to play against the Pittsburgh Steelers today but due to the sheer amount of players out with the virus, it became clear that the NFL would have to reschedule the game to Sunday. Well, now it seems like the NFL could be rescheduling this game to a whole new week entirely as it was recently reported by Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network that Lamar Jackson is now among the Ravens players with the virus. Four more Ravens players tested positive for the virus today, and Jackson was included in that group. Earlier today, it was revealed that another member of the staff had also tested positive. This is horrible news for the Ravens as their Week 12 matchup against the Steelers is now in complete jeopardy. Not to mention, the league has said it would be strict on teams who disobey COVID orders, which means the Ravens might have to give up a draft pick or even forfeit. Stay tuned for more updates on this developing story as we will be sure to bring them to you. Patrick Smith/Getty Images View the full article
  7. It looks like Eminem is about to get some justice. As we reported earlier this year, 27-year-old Matthew Hughes (who is reportedly homeless) invaded Eminem's home and told the rapper he was there to kill him. Em was not harmed in the invasion, although his legal team reports that Hughes broke in through a window and Marshall thought it was a relative because the house was dark. Eminem was able to lead Hughes out of his home, where security was able to handle things. Police showed up soon after to arrest him. Hughes is charged with first-degree home invasion and malicious destruction of property. According to the Detroit Free Press, a trial is set for April 19 in Macomb County Circuit Court. “I don’t believe we’re going to have trials with jurors until the vaccine is produced, and that’s a ways down the road, I think,” Judge Edward Servitto stated on the delayed date. However, Hughes does have the option to a quicker bench trial or one handled via Zoom. On top of his charges against Eminem, Hughes is also being charged with insulating a prison employee. The Macomb County Sheriff’s Office stated that Hughes punched a corrections officer in the face. View the full article
  8. When you lose an election, you leave office. This is how things typically work, however, since Donald Trump has refused to formally concede, Americans across the nation are taking his recent statement as a sign of progress. As reported by Fox News, Donald Trump stated that he would leave office if the electoral college votes for Joe Biden. Although this is as obvious a statement as saying "there will be light when the sun rises tomorrow," Trump stating that he will leave office because he lost is a welcome sign of peaceful transition. However, the president did once again point to claims of massive voter fraud, although the justice system doesn't seem to agree with his statements. When the president was asked by a reporter on Thanksgiving if he would leave office after the electoral college vote, he replied, “Certainly I will. You know that I will." He also commented on his legal battles in several states, saying, "A lot of things [are] happening between now and Jan. 20." “It’s going to be a very hard thing to concede,” Trump added. When asked about running in 2024, Trump stated, "I don’t want to talk to 2024 yet." However, it does seem like the president still believes he is going to overturn the 2020 election results. 9. This season has been one to forget for Cowboys fans. After a brutal injury to Dak Prescott, the Cowboys have been fielding Andy Dalton as their starter and he has yet to deliver them very many wins. Despite their abysmal record, the Cowboys are still in playoff contention thanks to a terrible NFC East, although based on their performance today, it's safe to say they won't be making the playoffs if things continue to go this way. In the clip below, the Cowboys were down 20-16 to the Washington Football Team when they decided to run a fake punt play on 4th and 10 in their own end. The play turned out to be a colossal failure as the ball carrier couldn't find a single open seam. In the end, he was tackled before he could pick up even so much as just one yard. To add insult to injury, the Cowboys immediately gave up a touchdown, and things continued to get even worse from there. The final score of the game was 41-16 in favor of Washington and Cowboys fans were understandably upset about how it all went down. On Twitter, fans and haters of the Cowboys voiced their opinions on the fake punt as well as the final score. As you can see from the tweets below, the Cowboys are a laughing stock right now and things aren't going to get any better. View the full article
  10. Netflix debuted its hip-hop competition series Rhythm + Flow just over a year ago, but the winner D Smoke is making fast work of the opportunities he was granted. This past week, D Smoke was nominated for two Grammys: best new artist and best rap album. Although there has been a mixed reaction to some of the Grammys' more questionable decisions (think The Weeknd snub), the best rap album category is receiving tons of praise. The selections are uniquely lyrical, and D Smoke was more than honored to be included alongside names like Nas and Royce Da 5'9. “I’ve trained myself to not look too far into things until they materialize,” D Smoke told Billboard “I figured if I didn’t raise my expectations too much then there’s no real disappointment to experience. But in doing so, once the news came I was through the roof. Literally, my voice is tired today from all the yelling I’ve been doing.” The talented rapper also commented on the fact the Grammys largely focused on lyrical albums this year. “It’s reflective of a need for something more in rap,” he explained. “This is a time for rap that speaks to us at more than a surface level. Having gone through something collectively as a nation, as a world, we’re seasoned differently by our experiences, and so rap that comes from an artist who has substance and knows how to articulate themselves at a higher level, I think it’s a perfect time for best rap album to reflect this type of artist.” View the full article
  11. While the Fall might be coming to an abrupt end in just a few short weeks , there is no denying that it is one of the best seasons of the year. The air gets colder but it allows for you to get a lot more creative with your outfits. Sneaker brands are always on top of this as they look to deliver sneaker colorways that perfectly reflect the season. Among those offerings is the infamous "Wheat" aesthetic that Nike has been beefing up this year, with some Mocha vibes added on top. Just a few weeks ago we reported on the Nike Air Force 1 Low "Wheat Mocha," and now, we have the Nike SB Dunk Low of the same name. In the official images below, you can see that the shoe is covered in brown "Wheat" suede that matches the Fall vibes quite nicely. From there, we have a gum outsole as well as a dark mocha midsole, which helps give the shoe come contrast all while providing a unique twist on a colorway that has become a staple of this particular season. Unfortunately, there is no release date for these right now, so keep it locked to HNHH as we will be sure to bring you all of the latest updates. 12. Deshaun Watson had himself a stunning Thanksgiving Day game as his Houston Texans defeated the Detroit Lions by a score of 41-27. Coming into this match, the Texans were only 2-7 on the season, with no reasonable chance of making it to the playoffs. Regardless, the team persevered and kept at it, leading to a pretty fantastic result that will certainly give themselves some confidence, moving forward. Watson was the key reason for this win as he threw for four touchdowns all while putting up 318 yards. These stats are made even more impressive by the fact he only threw 17 completions. Watson's performance was well-received by the likes of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who took to Twitter with some praise for Watson, saying "That man @deshaunwatson is special." Of course, these two were taken in the same draft, and have always had a ton of respect for one another. The Chiefs and the Texans played each other in the first week of the NFL season and in the end, it was Mahomes who came out on top, winning the game by a score of 34-20. At 9-1, the Chiefs are expected to go far into the playoffs, and unfortunately, a matchup against the Texans in the postseason seems incredibly unlikely. If you want to see more of what Watson had to offer today, you can check out the highlights from the game, below. View the full article
  13. President Donald Trump has been in a bit of a bind as of late considering he just lost the Presidential Election and will be leaving the White House on January 20th. President Trump hasn't taken too kindly to these results as he has consistently accused the democrats of voter fraud, claiming that it's impossible 80 million people voted for Joe Biden. So far, the President and his legal team have yet to come up with any compelling evidence, which means his efforts will probably have to come to an end, sooner rather than later. In the meantime, Trump has been getting out his frustrations on the golf course. The President has his very own golf course in Sterling, Virginia, and on Thursday, Trump made the trip so he could get a quick round in. Luckily, there was someone on hand to film his worst moment. In the clip below via TMZ, you can see Trump shanking the ball into the water before saying "I hate this f**king hole." Trump has spent plenty of time on the golf course during his presidency, so it's curious that he can't seem to avoid the hazards. After all, it is his golf course and it's also a place he has spent countless hours at. Clearly, the President will need to put in some extra practice if he wants to have a better round, next time. Luckily for him, not having to be President will give him all of the free time in the world. Tasos Katopodis/Getty Images [Via] View the full article
  14. Amid the pandemic, Netflix has been a go-to spot for most of us — understandably. So, if you're anything like me and you've managed to go through nearly all of the movies and TV shows that the streaming service has to offer, Chris Brown's latest proposal may pique your interest. The "Go Crazy" singer reached out to Netflix on Thursday via his Instagram story, urging them to start adding music videos. "Would be kinda cool if music videos were a part of Netflix," he wrote. "Would give artists hella exposure." Looks like Brown might be onto something here. Having movies, TV shows, and music videos all in one place would be ideal, and it would certainly help bring eyes and ears to artists who need the exposure. Brown seems to be having a very solid week outside of pitching this absolutely brilliant idea to Netflix. Yesterday he shared a selfie with a holier than thou caption that reads: "Your BLESSINGS come from your attitude. BE BLESSED," and on Tuesday, he was gifted a giant, super-fast, military-grade tank worth upward of $500K by Kanye West, which he made sure to share on the Gram. "THANK YOU KANYE," he wrote. Furthermore, in case you missed it, in early November, Brown joined the surprisingly long list of celebrities to launch an OnlyFans account, including Michael B. Jordan, Blac Chyna, B. Simone, Amber Rose, Jordyn Woods, and Cardi B — naturally fans went wild for it. View the full article
  15. Kanye West has delivered some fairly unorthodox sneaker designs over the years although more recently, his shoes have begun to get pretty unruly. Regardless, there are plenty of great Yeezy models out on the market right now, including the Adidas Yeezy 500 which takes on the dad shoe aesthetic that West helped popularize all the way back in 2017. Unfortunately, there haven't been very new colorways of this silhouette as of late, although just in time for Cyber Monday, it's been confirmed that an offering from 2018 will get a nice little restock for all of the sneakerheads out there. The colorway in question is the "Utility Black" model which dropped all the way back during the summer of 2018. It's a fairly basic and common look as we are delivered a shoe with black suede overlays on top of some black mesh on the side panels. While the colorway itself might not be all that unique, there is no denying that this is a fashionable shoe that will look great with various different outfits. If you're looking to get your hands on a pair, you will be able to do so as of Monday, November 30th for $200 USD. The Adidas app has already begun sign-ups so make sure to head there as soon as possible. Image via Adidas Image via Adidas Image via Adidas Image via Adidas View the full article
  16. Gucci Mane's protege artist, Foogiano, just dropped his debut album, Gutta Baby, and it's certainly one for the books. Throughout 2020, fans have been buzzing over the fresh generation of 1017, waiting on this project to be released, and after giving it a listen, I can say with confidence that it was worth the wait. One song in particular, however, might have stood out from the bunch, and that's "BACKEND." The track features Gucci Mane himself, and the buttery-smooth R&B vocals of Jacquees. The intro of the song includes a Motown-esque sample by the 1950s R&B group, The O’Jays, to set the tone before the beat drops about 20 seconds in. Foogiano's first verse comes in with gusto, as the maracas and guitar licks play on in the background, adding complex but compelling layers to the song. Jacquees' contributions are irreplaceable here — he adds a necessary dynamic — and of course, Gucci Mane holds down his end of the track, as always. Quotable Lyrics: don't need them in my picture, get put in a swisher But I can’t even smoke with these n*ggas My n*gga Dame was my n*gga, smoke roach to the finger Then rolled the roaches in a swisher I was f*cked up like a b*tch, down on my d*ck But I bounced back up like a pogo stick Ballin' so hard, I’m the logo, kid Might charge two stacks for a photo, kid View the full article
  17. Gordon Hayward recently signed a massive four-year deal with the Charlotte Hornets worth $120 million. Many fans have debated the merits of the contract although there is no denying that Hayward is in for a huge payday while playing for the legendary Michael Jordan. Although while Hayward was given a massive contract, it doesn't seem like his money has resulted in very much skill when it comes to cooking. In the clip below, Hayward can be seen putting together a Thanksgiving turkey that doesn't look very appetizing, and we're certainly putting that mildly. As you can see, it's almost as if the turkey has been completely disintegrated, leading to a pretty sad-looking bird. . For many of you reading this, Thanksgiving is a special time that is filled with some incredible foods. However, turkey is always an after thought as mac & cheese, cornbread, mashed potatoes, and pumpkin pie ultimately steal the show. With this in mind, we are hoping Hayward had better luck with the sides than he did with the turkey. Of course, the internet immediately took notice of Hayward's turkey and made sure to roast him about it on social media. In the tweets below, you can see just how savage some basketball fans were with their criticisms. Let us know whether or not you would eat Hayward's Thanksgiving dinner, in the comments below. 18. Since revealing her pregnancy with on-again-off-again boyfriend, London On Da Track, Summer Walker hasn't held back on giving her fans bumpdates. Last night, Walker hopped on an Instagram live stream to flaunt her baby bump while dancing, cooking, and listening to classic R&B tunes. Fans flooded the comment section, gushing over her pregnancy, congratulating her, and praising her seemingly great taste in music. On Tuesday, following the release of her Rolling Stone interview with Erykah Badu, Walker shared a series of photos, cozied up with her baby daddy. The pair posed in front of a mirror — London holding her tummy and giving her a kiss on the neck. The post, however, came as a surprise to fans who were foggy on whether or not the two were even still dating. Just last month, Walker announced that she was "officially single" in her Instagram story. "Eventually you have to give some kind of f*ck about yourself. It's the bare minimum for me," she wrote. Not long after that, the "Over It" singer revealed that she is pregnant with her first child, with a surprise announcement via Instagram on November 20. She shared a photo of herself in a snug, striped dress, clutching her bump, with a string of angel emojis below. In case you missed the aforementioned Musicians On Musicians interview between Walker and Erykah Badu, read the full story here. View the full article
  19. Not since the release of Jingle All The Way's "Turbo Man" or possibly the Furby has a product so thoroughly captivated the mass market like Sony's PlayStation 5. And since COVID-19 forced retailers to move their entire stock online, the subsequent chaos that resulted was among the biggest shit-shows in modern shopping history. Between the scalpers having free reign to unleash their bots and the general uncertainty surrounding drop times and dates, securing a PS5 has been a difficult task to say the least. Justin Sullivan/Getty Images Seeing as many have been left in the dust, holding out wads of cash and receiving nothing but the wind in return, Sony felt compelled to issue a reconciliatory statement on social media. And while their tone was indeed reassuring, many were quick to lambast the company for doing little to prevent scalpers and resellers from running rampant. "We want to thank gamers everywhere for making the PS5 launch our biggest console launch ever," writes the gaming giant, on both their U.S. and Canadian pages. "Demand for PS5 is unprecedented, so we wanted to confirm that more PS5 inventory will be coming to retailers before the end of the year - please stay in touch with your local retailers." Of course, that's not to say that securing a console will become any easier. The same vigilant process must be applied, should you be interested in having even the slightest chance. Be sure to keep an eye on your local retailers for news on potential supply drops, though don't be surprised to see them selling out in minutes. Yet where there is a will, there is most certainly a way. Have you managed to secure a PS5 yet, or are you waiting for next year when the hype fades a little? Or do you think Boosie Badazz was onto something when he issued a word of warning about the coveted console? View the full article
  20. Lil Baby isn't taking any chances. In a new picture with Bun B, posted by the Houston rap legend, Baby seemingly keeps his hand on a pistol in the pocket of his hoodie-- or at least that's what it looks like. With everything that has gone on in the hip-hop community in the last few months, including the shooting deaths of King Von and Mo3, as well as Boosie Badazz and Benny The Butcher's shootings, Lil Baby appears to be taking extra security measures to ensure that he's around for a long time. One of the world's most in-demand artists, Lil Baby is celebrating his multiple GRAMMY nominations this week. His team at Quality Control is frustrated that he didn't earn more nominations but, hopefully, if all goes his way, he'll be leaving the ceremony with a couple of new trophies. Just ahead of Thanksgiving, Lil Baby ran into Houston legend Bun B, posing for a picture on Instagram. People have been pointing out one aspect of the picture in the comments though, noticing that Baby seems to be clutching something in his pocket, marking the outline of a pistol. While he may have been with security, the way things are going, it's never a bad idea to keep some extra protection on his person. It's unfortunate that he needs to move with a firearm though, but that's a story for a different day. View the full article
  21. Eminem and social media aren't exactly a match made in heaven. In fact, Slim openly disavowed technology on The Marshall Mathers LP 2 song "So Far," not to mention his discovery of the selfie, which fans were left watching horrified in real-time. In any case, it's become one of his more endearing qualities and makes his uncommon posts feel that much more impactful -- even when he's simply embracing some of the zanier content the vast expanse of the internet has to offer. Frederick M. Brown/Getty Images Last night, Em found himself fascinated by a truly bizarre rendition of "Godzilla," his Juice WRLD-assisted hit single from January's Music To Be Murdered By. So much so that he took it upon himself to share a clip on his Instagram page, asking a question that's on all of our collective minds: "WTF- who did this?" A fair question, given the nature of the video, which finds Eminem's dexterous verse replaced by a Chris D'Elia-inspired version, one that seems to relish in mimicking his animated cadence. While many fans were quick to get a kick out of it, with Eminem presumably having a laugh at his own expense, this goofy take on "Godzilla" goes a long way in shining a light on the strange nooks and crannies of internet comedy. In truth, academics will likely find themselves studying meme culture throughout the years, trying to fathom what exactly makes them so addictive -- even the Rap God himself is not immune from their siren-song. Are we really surprised, though? This is, after all, the mind behind "FACK." Check out the clip below, and who knows -- perhaps we'll see Slim reference it in a coming track, as he previously did with D'Elia's infamous impression. View the full article
  22. It's well-documented that when it comes to trash talk in the NBA, Draymond Green is one of the most effective at it. Of course, this has been true for a while now and many other players have noted just how hard it can be to play against Green sometimes as he is always in your ear with something to say. The NBA has produced multiple players with this attitude, particularly Michael Jordan who was consistently delivering some brutal trash-talk to his most hated opponents. According to Clutch Points, Green was recently interviewed about his experiences and noted that one of his favorite players to go back and forth with is actually none other than Russell Westbrook. As he notes, Westbrook is always giving you his all, which makes the competition that much more fun. Michael Reaves/Getty Images “I start yelling at him, like, ‘We don’t need to beat them. Russ is going to beat them,” Green said when noting how Westbrook is known for taking a lot of shots. "Like, ‘uh-oh, there he goes. He’s about to shoot them out of the game.' Then he comes back at me like, ‘You can’t shoot. You can’t play,'” Green added. “It’s just… that’s one of the guys I enjoy going back and forth with the most. I have a lot of respect for him, but Russ is a guy who is going to keep talking back.” Westbrook and Green are certainly two of the chippiest players in the leaguer so it's not surprising to hear Draymond make such an admission. Either way, hopefully we get to see them go back and forth plenty of times this season. [Via] View the full article
  23. Willie D, a member of iconic rap group Geto Boys, joined Joe Rogan on episode of #1570 of The Joe Rogan Experience and shared some of the most historic moments from the Geto Boys’ career. Being a part of a rap group that rose to fame in the early '90s, music censorship was a burgeoning theme across the media landscape at this time. Willie D recalled the first time the Geto Boys were censored with their self-titled album at the outset of the episode. "The Geto Boys was the first group to have a manufacturer decline the distribution of our music. We was the first group in music history where a manufacturer said 'we’re not gonna press.'" Matt Cowan/Getty Images These restrictions followed them to the stage as well. Willie D goes on to recount a story about The Geto Boys getting prepared to perform in Florida when a city representative came and told them the city manager had changed their minds and they weren’t going to be allowed to perform at all. "That was the Geto Boys self-titled album. That was ‘92, that was the Rick Rubin remake. The funny thing was that, well it wasn’t funny at the time but-- well it still ain’t funny. You know Geffen Records, David Geffen, he decided that he was not going to distribute our music, but he was cool with distributing Andrew Dice Clay and Guns N Roses. And you know what type of music these guys were doing at that time we’re talking about 1990. So of course man we was like yeah this is censorship and we know why. Wink, wink. You know? We know! That’s why we came with the We Can’t Be Stopped album." Willie D acknowledged the controversy in their lyrics as the group often tackled topics regarding gore, misogyny, and even necrophilia, However, the OG emphasized that censorship was still more racially charged at that time. And as a man who always had vengeance on his mind, this is what led to the creation of their platinum album We Can’t Be Stopped. We Can't Be Stopped album cover The album cover for We Can’t Be Stopped remains an important piece of rap history, as the iconic photograph acted as a middle finger to censorship. The image features the group in hospital with the late Bushwick Bill, who died from pancreatic cancer in June 2019. Bill was hospitalized after allegedly being shot in the eye by his girlfriend at the time. After the Geto Boys team got word that he was okay, Cliff Blodget, the co-owner of Rap A Lot Records at the time, pushed the group to shoot a picture for their recently finished album. As Willie D. tells it during the interview: “And that was done like totally spontaneously. We didn’t-- It was totally unplanned because we had finished the album and then Bushwick gets shot and this would happen a lot with Bushwick Bill. Like, Bill could get a job done, if he had something he had to do he’d get it done, but then after he’d get it done you know something just starts going on. Stuff just starts happening. We finished the album and get a call “Bill got shot!” Go up to the hospital and immediately in my mind you know this is my cowboy western days mind you-- I’m thinking revenge like I don’t care who shot him I’m like let’s get em! So I get to the hospital and I go into the room-- Bill is there he’s kinda dazed but he’s conscious and he’s like “Will, don’t hurt her. I made her do it.” So that was that, you know I checked on him, he was good. He was gonna survive, you know he lost his eye, but he was gonna survive.” Watch the full episode with Joe Rogan, Willie D. and Mike Judge below. If you missed it, Rogan recently delved into why he hesitated to do the podcast with Kanye West here. View the full article
  24. If you've been keeping yourself up late at night wondering, "man, I really wonder what Kodak Black and Bobby Shmurda will be eating on Thanksgiving", your questions finally have some answers. While there certainly aren't as many options for food behind bars as there are at home, our favorite incarcerated celebrities aren't exactly starving on tonight's food-centric holiday. John Moore/Getty Images It's unfortunate that Bobby Shmurda, who looked all set to be released before the end of this year just a few months ago, isn't spending tonight with his family. However, since his gathering likely would have been via Zoom call anyway, this is probably the best possible year to be away from loved ones for the holidays. Bobby will be chowing down tonight on roast turkey with gravy, bread dressing, whipped potatoes, steamed carrots, cranberry sauce, dinner rolls, and a sundae. That definitely doesn't sound too bad. As for Kodak Black, he's also got a decent plate on the menu, which includes a turkey roast (or a tofu stir fry if he prefers), mashed potatoes, corn, cornbread dressing, gravy, rolls, and a choice between pie or cranberry sauce. Mike Coppola/Getty Images As for Bill Cosby, he'll be munching on some roast turkey (or a garden burger), whipped potatoes, bread stuffing, green peas, gravy, rolls, cranberry sauce, and pumpkin pie. Wait... pie AND sauce? Kodak didn't get that lucky... Hopefully, Bobby Shmurda and Kodak Black get some good news in their cases. 25. Over the past few days, Denzel Curry has been actively voicing his frustrations on Twitter, maintaining that he's easily one of the game's most influential and underappreciated voices. And while he has confirmed the existence of a new album, many of his fans were alarmed to hear him voice a growing hatred for the art of rapping, the result of an increasingly jaded attitude. Yet that's not to say all hope is lost, as the spark has yet to fully fade. In fact, Zeltron seems particularly thrilled about an upcoming drop with J.I.D, with whom he previously linked on "SIRENS." Rich Fury/Getty Images After likening both his and the Dreamville rapper to Mortal Kombat's legendary fighters Scorpion and Sub-Zero, Denzel opted to hit J.I.D. directly to inquire about the state of their next collaboration. From the sound of it, the track has already been recorded and appears to be in J.I.D's hands -- at least, he seems to be the one calling the shots on the release date, and given his general uncertainty, we could be looking at a possible album cut. On that note, J.I.D. remains hopeful that their upcoming collab will land in December, though little else is known about what's in store on a musical level. The last time they connected on wax, the pair opted to turn in introspective and cynical reflections on the state of American culture. For a second go-around, perhaps they'll take things in an entirely different direction, opting to flex their technical prowess and dexterity over a track like "Off Deez." Yet these are two of the game's most exciting young lyricists, and all bets are off as to what's in store. Check out the exchange below, and sound off -- are Denzel and J.I.D two of the best in the game right now? View the full article
