  1. Eminem and social media aren't exactly a match made in heaven. In fact, Slim openly disavowed technology on The Marshall Mathers LP 2 song "So Far," not to mention his discovery of the selfie, which fans were left watching horrified in real-time. In any case, it's become one of his more endearing qualities and makes his uncommon posts feel that much more impactful -- even when he's simply embracing some of the zanier content the vast expanse of the internet has to offer. Frederick M. Brown/Getty Images Last night, Em found himself fascinated by a truly bizarre rendition of "Godzilla," his Juice WRLD-assisted hit single from January's Music To Be Murdered By. So much so that he took it upon himself to share a clip on his Instagram page, asking a question that's on all of our collective minds: "WTF- who did this?" A fair question, given the nature of the video, which finds Eminem's dexterous verse replaced by a Chris D'Elia-inspired version, one that seems to relish in mimicking his animated cadence. While many fans were quick to get a kick out of it, with Eminem presumably having a laugh at his own expense, this goofy take on "Godzilla" goes a long way in shining a light on the strange nooks and crannies of internet comedy. In truth, academics will likely find themselves studying meme culture throughout the years, trying to fathom what exactly makes them so addictive -- even the Rap God himself is not immune from their siren-song. Are we really surprised, though? This is, after all, the mind behind "FACK." Check out the clip below, and who knows -- perhaps we'll see Slim reference it in a coming track, as he previously did with D'Elia's infamous impression. View the full article
  2. It's well-documented that when it comes to trash talk in the NBA, Draymond Green is one of the most effective at it. Of course, this has been true for a while now and many other players have noted just how hard it can be to play against Green sometimes as he is always in your ear with something to say. The NBA has produced multiple players with this attitude, particularly Michael Jordan who was consistently delivering some brutal trash-talk to his most hated opponents. According to Clutch Points, Green was recently interviewed about his experiences and noted that one of his favorite players to go back and forth with is actually none other than Russell Westbrook. As he notes, Westbrook is always giving you his all, which makes the competition that much more fun. Michael Reaves/Getty Images “I start yelling at him, like, ‘We don’t need to beat them. Russ is going to beat them,” Green said when noting how Westbrook is known for taking a lot of shots. "Like, ‘uh-oh, there he goes. He’s about to shoot them out of the game.' Then he comes back at me like, ‘You can’t shoot. You can’t play,'” Green added. “It’s just… that’s one of the guys I enjoy going back and forth with the most. I have a lot of respect for him, but Russ is a guy who is going to keep talking back.” Westbrook and Green are certainly two of the chippiest players in the leaguer so it's not surprising to hear Draymond make such an admission. Either way, hopefully we get to see them go back and forth plenty of times this season. [Via] View the full article
  3. Willie D, a member of iconic rap group Geto Boys, joined Joe Rogan on episode of #1570 of The Joe Rogan Experience and shared some of the most historic moments from the Geto Boys’ career. Being a part of a rap group that rose to fame in the early '90s, music censorship was a burgeoning theme across the media landscape at this time. Willie D recalled the first time the Geto Boys were censored with their self-titled album at the outset of the episode. "The Geto Boys was the first group to have a manufacturer decline the distribution of our music. We was the first group in music history where a manufacturer said 'we’re not gonna press.'" Matt Cowan/Getty Images These restrictions followed them to the stage as well. Willie D goes on to recount a story about The Geto Boys getting prepared to perform in Florida when a city representative came and told them the city manager had changed their minds and they weren’t going to be allowed to perform at all. "That was the Geto Boys self-titled album. That was ‘92, that was the Rick Rubin remake. The funny thing was that, well it wasn’t funny at the time but-- well it still ain’t funny. You know Geffen Records, David Geffen, he decided that he was not going to distribute our music, but he was cool with distributing Andrew Dice Clay and Guns N Roses. And you know what type of music these guys were doing at that time we’re talking about 1990. So of course man we was like yeah this is censorship and we know why. Wink, wink. You know? We know! That’s why we came with the We Can’t Be Stopped album." Willie D acknowledged the controversy in their lyrics as the group often tackled topics regarding gore, misogyny, and even necrophilia, However, the OG emphasized that censorship was still more racially charged at that time. And as a man who always had vengeance on his mind, this is what led to the creation of their platinum album We Can’t Be Stopped. We Can't Be Stopped album cover The album cover for We Can’t Be Stopped remains an important piece of rap history, as the iconic photograph acted as a middle finger to censorship. The image features the group in hospital with the late Bushwick Bill, who died from pancreatic cancer in June 2019. Bill was hospitalized after allegedly being shot in the eye by his girlfriend at the time. After the Geto Boys team got word that he was okay, Cliff Blodget, the co-owner of Rap A Lot Records at the time, pushed the group to shoot a picture for their recently finished album. As Willie D. tells it during the interview: “And that was done like totally spontaneously. We didn’t-- It was totally unplanned because we had finished the album and then Bushwick gets shot and this would happen a lot with Bushwick Bill. Like, Bill could get a job done, if he had something he had to do he’d get it done, but then after he’d get it done you know something just starts going on. Stuff just starts happening. We finished the album and get a call “Bill got shot!” Go up to the hospital and immediately in my mind you know this is my cowboy western days mind you-- I’m thinking revenge like I don’t care who shot him I’m like let’s get em! So I get to the hospital and I go into the room-- Bill is there he’s kinda dazed but he’s conscious and he’s like “Will, don’t hurt her. I made her do it.” So that was that, you know I checked on him, he was good. He was gonna survive, you know he lost his eye, but he was gonna survive.” Watch the full episode with Joe Rogan, Willie D. and Mike Judge below. If you missed it, Rogan recently delved into why he hesitated to do the podcast with Kanye West here. View the full article
  4. If you've been keeping yourself up late at night wondering, "man, I really wonder what Kodak Black and Bobby Shmurda will be eating on Thanksgiving", your questions finally have some answers. While there certainly aren't as many options for food behind bars as there are at home, our favorite incarcerated celebrities aren't exactly starving on tonight's food-centric holiday. John Moore/Getty Images It's unfortunate that Bobby Shmurda, who looked all set to be released before the end of this year just a few months ago, isn't spending tonight with his family. However, since his gathering likely would have been via Zoom call anyway, this is probably the best possible year to be away from loved ones for the holidays. Bobby will be chowing down tonight on roast turkey with gravy, bread dressing, whipped potatoes, steamed carrots, cranberry sauce, dinner rolls, and a sundae. That definitely doesn't sound too bad. As for Kodak Black, he's also got a decent plate on the menu, which includes a turkey roast (or a tofu stir fry if he prefers), mashed potatoes, corn, cornbread dressing, gravy, rolls, and a choice between pie or cranberry sauce. Mike Coppola/Getty Images As for Bill Cosby, he'll be munching on some roast turkey (or a garden burger), whipped potatoes, bread stuffing, green peas, gravy, rolls, cranberry sauce, and pumpkin pie. Wait... pie AND sauce? Kodak didn't get that lucky... Hopefully, Bobby Shmurda and Kodak Black get some good news in their cases. Bobby's next parole hearing takes place in 2021, while Kodak is expected to remain behind bars until 2022. [via] View the full article
  5. Over the past few days, Denzel Curry has been actively voicing his frustrations on Twitter, maintaining that he's easily one of the game's most influential and underappreciated voices. And while he has confirmed the existence of a new album, many of his fans were alarmed to hear him voice a growing hatred for the art of rapping, the result of an increasingly jaded attitude. Yet that's not to say all hope is lost, as the spark has yet to fully fade. In fact, Zeltron seems particularly thrilled about an upcoming drop with J.I.D, with whom he previously linked on "SIRENS." Rich Fury/Getty Images After likening both his and the Dreamville rapper to Mortal Kombat's legendary fighters Scorpion and Sub-Zero, Denzel opted to hit J.I.D. directly to inquire about the state of their next collaboration. From the sound of it, the track has already been recorded and appears to be in J.I.D's hands -- at least, he seems to be the one calling the shots on the release date, and given his general uncertainty, we could be looking at a possible album cut. On that note, J.I.D. remains hopeful that their upcoming collab will land in December, though little else is known about what's in store on a musical level. The last time they connected on wax, the pair opted to turn in introspective and cynical reflections on the state of American culture. For a second go-around, perhaps they'll take things in an entirely different direction, opting to flex their technical prowess and dexterity over a track like "Off Deez." Yet these are two of the game's most exciting young lyricists, and all bets are off as to what's in store. Check out the exchange below, and sound off -- are Denzel and J.I.D two of the best in the game right now? View the full article
  6. Over three-and-a-half years have passed since Kendrick Lamar released his latest studio album. That's a total of 1,322 days without much new music from the 33-year-old Pulitzer Prize-winning artist. Needless to say, the world is hungry and we want some new-new from Kung Fu Kenny. There have been rumors surrounding Kendrick's involvement with Top Dawg Entertainment, the label that he has loyally stayed with for his entire career. Some sources claimed that Kendrick was officially out with TDE earlier this year, which actually woke the rapper up and forced him to address the speculation. Bryan Bedder/Getty Images As it stands, Kendrick is still the most integral part of the label so, whenever Top Dawg reveals that new music is dropping, the "Alright" artist is always the first name on people's minds. At this point, we could use new music from SZA, Isaiah Rashad, ScHoolboy Q, Jay Rock, and literally everybody else on the TDE roster. However, with Anthony "Top Dawg" Tiffith teasing some new video content, the Kendrick rumors have started flying again. Top Dawg posted an Instagram Story that shows his video team closing up for the day, writing: "It's a wrap! Good job..." While the video could be for anybody on the roster, people are theorizing that it's possibly for Kendrick. Right now, there's no base to those rumors, aside from pure speculation. Do you think we may be in for a take-over from Kendrick Lamar before the end of the year? View the full article
  7. In case you missed it, the recently crowned Sexiest Man Alive by People, Michael B. Jordan, and Steve Harvey's daughter, Lori Harvey, were spotted getting off of a plane together in Atlanta — just in time for Thanksgiving — and fans are buzzing. Harvey happens to live in Atlanta, so fans have speculated that the pair are spending the holiday together. Harvey and her now-ex-boyfriend, Future, called off their relationship over the summer, while Jordan has been single for quite some time now. In an interview with People, he described his perfect woman as somebody with "a sense of humor, true understanding, because [an actor’s] life is not conducive to a relationship—it’s really not," and "somebody that's nurturing." Daniel Zuchnik/Getty Images "I’ve got a list. That’s probably why my ass is still single, but yeah, it’s a list," he added, specifying the physical features he often pays attention to. "It’s like lips, teeth, mouth. I think I’ve paid more attention to eyes as of late, with these masks. I love a woman’s hips, thighs. Hands and feet. And what order you go, that’s a totally different question." Barring it wasn't a total coincidence that Jordan and Harvey got off of the same Delta flight, it's plausible that the two are seeing each other, and fans have a lot to say about it on Twitter. 8. Last week, Benny The Butcher was shot in the leg during an armed robbery in Dallas, Texas. While many fans were understandably concerned, Westside Gunn quickly confirmed that Benny was on the mend, temporarily sidelined but on the road to recovery nevertheless. Though Benny has been relatively quiet on the matter, it would appear that he's wasted little time in bouncing back, as evidenced by a recent picture shared on his Twitter page. Bennett Raglin/Getty Images From the look of it, a wheelchair-bound Benny appears to be holding it down alongside one of rap's most hospitable bosses: Rick Ross, CEO, lyricist, and impromptu nurse. Though it's highly unlikely he's registered on that front, his bedside manner looks marvelous all the same. In fact, he appears to be keeping The Butcher more than comfortable in his lavish estate, leaving us wondering as to whether Renzel will be hosting the laid-up Griselda lyricist for an opulent Thanksgiving feast. While the true purpose of the visit is unclear -- it could very well be a simple case of friends linking up for some good-old-fashioned camaraderie -- it's hard not to imagine that collaboration was at least broached as a topic. After all, Ross has been sitting on his new album Richer Than I've Ever Been, currently lined up for a January release, and it wouldn't be surprising to see Benny slide through for a few bars. It would only feel appropriate, given that Rozay lent his talents to Benny's Burden Of Proof track "Where Would I Go." Check out the picture of their link-up below, and be sure to send some Thanksgiving love to The Butcher and the Boss. View the full article
  9. Around this time last year, many of us were waiting for promising young star-in-the-making Roddy Ricch to release his debut studio album, Please Excuse Me For Being Antisocial. The body of work, which was released on December 6, 2019, convinced a lot of new fans that Roddy was the truth, and it reinforced assumptions from early supporters that he would end up doing big things. Fast-forward one year and, despite all the dung that this year has thrown our way, Roddy proved us all correct, creating a long-lasting album that will likely go down as one of the best debut albums in modern rap history. Please Excuse Me For Being Antisocial has too many standouts to count, but with the way "The Box" took over the charts, social media, and the entire world, Roddy showed that he's worth every bit of your attention. The Compton rapper is up for a total of six GRAMMY nominations this year, and he may already have next year's ceremony in his sights, cryptically hinting that his next album could be ready to go. Roger Kisby/Getty Images The budding superstar tweeted out what appears to be either a song title or an inevitable album title, getting fans hyped for what's to come. "Love Is Barely Real Anymore...... otw," he wrote. If it weren't for the addition of his little "otw" announcement at the tail-end of the tweet, the since-deleted post would likely have flown over the radar. However, publications and superfans alike are picking up on that detail, getting behind the tweet and theorizing that an album has been completed and is coming soon. Notably, the acronym that comes from this is "LIBRA", which is Roddy's zodiac sign. What are you expecting from Roddy Ricch the next time around? View the full article
  10. It's a formula that holds true in many facets of the entertainment industry, from music to film: when in doubt, bring a sequel out. Though part-twos have been a longtime staple in hip-hop music, with notable projects like Jay-Z's The Blueprint 2 and Raekwon's Only Built 4 Cuban Linx 2, many artists have taken to playing the sequel card with recurring frequency. Sometimes even before nostalgia has time to settle in the first place. Kevin Winter/Getty Images Yet in Future's case, Monster 2 has been long sought by fans, many of whom feel the 2015 mixtape is a shining point in his discography. Boasting songs like "Radicals," "Fuck Up Some Commas," "My Savages," and his debatable magnum opus "Codeine Crazy," the project played a pivotal role in asserting Future's dominant run on a widespread level. Not only that, but darker production from Metro Boomin, Southside, TM88 helped highlight the rapper's smothering and self-destructive melancholy -- and the fans couldn't be happier. While Future has occasionally teased a continuation of Monster in the past, it would appear that he's finally looking to get the ball rolling. A new Instagram post seems to suggest that the gang is indeed back together, with Future, Metro Boomin, Southside, and DJ Esco having united in the studio for a Monster-centric meeting of the minds. Though it wouldn't be the first time Future has served fans up a healthy serving of red herring -- anyone remember those HNDRXX 2 posts? -- perhaps this time will be different. With the possibility of Monster 2 looking stronger than ever, keep an eye out for more news on the upcoming project as it surfaces. When it comes to hip-hop sequels, do you believe them to be a gift or a curse? View the full article
  11. Quando Rondo is reportedly not under investigation in regards to King Von's shooting death this month, but he still remains wrapped up in headlines surrounding the incident. Prior to King Von's fatal shooting, the rapper was reportedly involved in an altercation with Quando Rondo. The two former friends caught up to each other in the parking lot, as seen in security footage released from that night, with Von seemingly throwing a punch at the rapper. That's when all hell broke loose, creating a massive scuffle in the lot before shots were fired. Quando has since spoken out about the situation, addressing it on his new song "End Of Story" and through statements to the media, in which he claims he feels "extremely bad" about the whole thing. The Georgia-born rapper was set to perform a couple of shows mere days after the altercation, but they were canceled due to his "ongoing legal situation" according to the venue. Many users on social media theorized that Lil Durk had actually bought out all the tickets to the show, which forced them to cancel. That much remains speculative. Despite everything that's been going on, Quando Rondo is ready to get back to work. He recently announced that he will be getting back to the club, performing his return show on Black Friday tomorrow night. "Macon Ga This Friday," he wrote, revealing that he'll be back near Atlanta. "I Love That MaC .... #PullUp." In the comments, people are tagging Lil Durk and asking him to take action. Quando's fans are also loudly supporting the rapper, assuring him that he'll get there, perform, and be out safely. Do you think it's smart for Quando to return to the club scene right now? 12. This year's GRAMMY Nominations have proven to be a hot topic all week long, with artists and executives voicing their opinions on what the Recording Academy got wrong. The loudest response has come from The Weeknd and his fans, who are astonished that the singer didn't receive a single nomination, despite his top-selling album After Hours and his record-breaking song "Blinding Lights". Another name that people are upset wasn't nominated more than he was is Pop Smoke. The late rapper dominated much of this year-- first with his Meet The Woo Vol. 2 mixtape and then with his posthumous album Shoot For The Stars, Aim For The Moon. Pop is nominated in one category, for his high-powered track "Dior". But people are disappointed that the Academy chose not to recognize him in the Best Rap Album category, among others. Steven Victor, the head of Victor Victor Worldwide, Pop's former label, is officially speaking out about what he sees as a snub, giving a new interview to GQ. Pascal Le Segretain/Getty Images "I think the Grammys is cap, bro. No disrespect, but who is D Smoke?" said Victor, shading one of this year's most spirited rappers, who definitely deserves more worldwide recognition. "This is an artist—I’m not saying he started a genre, because he didn’t start drill music—but [Pop] bought drill music to the forefront and made it mainstream. He had a huge impact. Forget about whether he passed away, his impact was felt way before that. He was going to be a superstar." Victor went on to further critique the awards show, wondering why he wasn't chosen in select spots, like Best Rap Album and Best New Artist. Claudio Lavenia/Getty Images "How does he not get nominated for Album of the Year or Rap Album of the Year or Best New Artist? This is his only chance to get nominated for these awards," elaborated Victor. "So to me, the Grammys is cap. I don’t know who’s making these decisions. He should’ve been nominated for 'Dior' in more than one category, he should’ve been nominated for Best New Artist, he should’ve been nominated for Album of the Year, and he should’ve been nominated for Rap Album of the Year. He should’ve swept the whole thing. It doesn’t make any sense." Steven Victor does state that Pop's family is pleased that he got at least one nomination. However, he's peeved because he knows this was the artist's only chance to be recognized on such a grand level. [via] View the full article
  13. The shocking news of Josie Harris's death was shared back in March, and since that time, the family of the mother of three has been doing their best to restructure their lives without her. The 40-year-old was reportedly found unresponsive while inside of her vehicle outside of her Valencia, Calif. home, and it was later revealed that she died of an accidental overdose of fentanyl and Xanax. Floyd Mayweather and Josie were together on and off for 15 years and the death of the mother of three of his children was devastating for the championship boxer. He took to social media to share old photos of their time together as he publicly grieved for his ex, and it has recently been reported that he has filed paperwork to take charge of her estate. According to The Blast, Mayweather fled legal documents requesting that he be named the executor of Josie's estate. She reportedly died without a will, and while two of their children are legal adults, Mayweather states in the documents that they "have 'failed' to act on behalf of their mother." The documents reads that Mayweather is "the father of (Josie's) children and he is a creditor. (Josie) has no spouse and her two adult children have declined to act." Immediately prior to Josie's untimely death, she was engaged in a lawsuit against Mayweather with millions of dollars on the line. Harris sued Mayweather for $20 million over an interview he conducted where she claimed he lied about her, including allegations that when he was arrested in 2010 for domestic violence again Josie, she was abusing drugs. She also stated that he was repeatedly physically abusive throughout their relationship. Now, Mayweather has requested that a "special administrator" of his choosing, attorney Ron Rale, handle her estate "in her child support case" against him. The sports star would like Rale to "settle or to dismiss the case." The paperwork also suggested that Josie Harris was only worth $22K when she died, but that doesn't include any of her assets or property. [via] View the full article
  14. The dissension regarding the 2021 Grammy Award nominations rolls on, but The Recording Academy's Black Music Collective Honorary Chairs have issued a statement to the Black Music Collective Leadership Council. Many have complained that there is a lack of women and Black representation in this year's nominees, leading some such as Drake or Charlamagne The God to speak openly about the division between the Grammys and the culture. Nicki Minaj recently spoke about her snub back in 2012 when she didn't win with numerous singles still on the charts, and The Weeknd had one of the most celebrated albums of the year with After Hours but he didn't receive any nominations, at all. In the letter from the Honorary Chairs including Jimmy Jam, Quincy Jones, Debra Lee, and John Legend, they congratulated all of the nominees for the 2021 year. "Especially the Black nominees who represent one of the most inclusive Black artist nomination rosters in years," the letter reads. "It's a historic year as 10 Black women are nominated in the top four categories and more than 20 Black nominees are represented in the General Fields. Also, for the first time, all 6 nominees for Best Rap Album are Black independent artists. This is progress." They acknowledged that "every awards cycle" can bring disappointments, but The Recording Academy is looking to become more inclusive as there is still work to be done. Read through the statement in its entirety below. View the full article
  15. Just when you think that this situation can't get any more strange, Kelsey Nicole surfaces with a diss track. The former best friend of Megan Thee Stallion has been taking hits from the public following the July shooting incident involving the Houston rapper and Tory Lanez. There has been much speculation as to what really went down that fateful night when Megan was injured, but each party involved has shared their version of the truth. Megan insists that Lanez shot her following an argument, while Tory claims that he wasn't responsible for Meg's injuries. The public has weighed in heavily for the last four months and after she was accused of being the shooter, Kelsey adamantly denied that she pulled the trigger. At the stroke of midnight on Thursday (November 26), Kelsey Nicole decided to bring in the Thanksgiving holiday by sharing her diss track "Bussin Back." It's a response to Megan's Good News intro "Shots Fired" where the leader of the Hot Girls took aim at both Kelsey and Tory. Megan once again claimed that Tory shot her unprovoked and accused Kelsey of taking money from Lanez in order to keep quiet about what happened. On Kelsey's track, she stated that Megan was lying about the incident while she continued to deny that she shot her ex-friend. Megan seemingly responded to the song both on Twitter and Instagram. On the former, she dropped a few crying laughing emojis while on the latter, she shared a video of herself with four of her friends as they sing along to her Good News track "What's New." Megan rapped on the song, "Tеll a hater, 'F*ck you' (Ah) / They keep comin', tellin' me these b*tches mad, what's new?" In the clip, Meg and her friends give the camera the middle finger and in the caption, the Stallion wrote, "GN from thee besties." 16. Just when you thought everyone would come together for the holidays, we have another diss track on our hands. Back in September, Tory Lanez released his Daystar album after a long silence following the July shooting involving Megan Thee Stallion. The Good News rapper fingered Tory as her shooter—an accusation that Lanez has denied since it surfaced. Meanwhile, Megan and her best friend Kelsey Nicole have also been at odds, but the Houston rapper didn't speak about Kelsey until she released her debut studio album. On it, she called out Kelsey on a track titled "Shots Fired" where Megan claimed that her ex-friend took hush-money from Lanez's camp and turned her back on her. For months, Kelsey has been promising that she would one day share her side of the story, and it seems that "Shots Fired" was the final straw. On Thursday (November 26) Kelsey dropped her diss track "Bussin Back" where she spits rhymes targeting Megan Thee Stallion. Kelsey suggests that Megan has been lying to her label about what happened during the shooting incident and stated that the "WAP" rapper has allowed fame to cloud her judgment. Megan seemed to respond to the track with a stream of crying laughing emojis. Stream Kelsey Nicole's "Bussin Back" and share your thoughts. Quotable Lyrics Are you lying to your label Do they really know what happened (Who shot ya) 'Cause you know it wasn't me I was 10 toes down whenever you had beef It's a goddamn shame All you had to do was clear your best friend's name All you had to do is keep it real and stay the same But you switched up on me for the money and the fame View the full article

  18. He's petitioned for his shot at Verzuz all year long, but it's unknown if Timbaland and Swizz Beatz are any closer to getting Juicy J on their series. The hit show was bred under the guise of being a music battle, but it's grown to a "celebration of the culture" as artists come together to not so much try to see who's the best, but more to enjoy the memorable music they've created. In every Verzuz comment section, fans can find tidbits from Juicy J as the rapper-megaproducer continues to ask for his fair shot on stage, but it seems that his requests have fallen on deaf ears. J has suggested that Three 6 Mafia go up against N.W.A., or that as a solo artist he should share the spotlight with the likes of Nas or Dr. Dre. In a recent interview with 97.9 The Box in Houston, Juicy J stated that he now has his eyes keenly set on Pharrell Williams. “I got such a long... I could easily kill somebody in a Verzuz battle," said J. "I could pull up that old Three 6 [Mafia] and pull up my new catalog and smash you with my middle catalog. I mean there’s three decades of music... I think you can you can only play twenty records, I got so many hits." He added, "You know what, I'ma tell you something. A match-up, me and Pharrell. He a artist, I'm a artist, he a producer, and I'm a producer." The radio host slipped in there that there were rumors that T.I. may be matched up with Lil Wayne next, but we'll have to wait on news about that. Watch Juicy J's interview below as he speaks on Verzuz and his Friday release, The Hustle Continues. View the full article
  19. The rumors regarding the relationship status of DaBaby and DaniLeigh have been slowly burning for months. The pair seemed to be the hot new couple on the hip hop scene after internet sleuths pieced together that they were at the same places without openly acknowledging one another. Then, when they finally were snapped by the paparazzi hand-in-hand, they were pegged at hip hop's "It" couple, but things quickly took a turn and it looked as if DaBaby reunited with the mother of his daughter. Still, there were musical connections between the two artists. He reportedly penned lyrics about her on his album and they collaborated for her Movie project on the track "Levi High." DaniLeigh conducted interviews where she made it clear that she wasn't interested in clarifying the status of her relationship with DaBaby to anyone, but it was assumed that the romance was over. However, a brief video shared on social media has fans back at it as they speculate about the two artists' personal lives. The Def Jam singer-rapper shared a video to social media where she showed off bits of her home, and people couldn't help but notice that one of DaBaby's plaques was hanging nicely next to her accomplishments. In the video, she plays her song "Famous" where she sings, "So I'ma just keep hangin' plaques on the wall (Yеah) / Don't bother, don't call (Don't call) / I don't need your love, I don't need your love no more." 20. 'Tis the season for another Drake leak. It's unclear if Drizzy will drop of Certfied Lover Boy as a holiday gift to his millions of fans, but in the meantime, it seems that we have yet another leak from the OVO mogul. We've witnessed as Drake tracks have mysteriously surfaced over the years, but there has been an uptick in 2020. Tracks include "Rollin," "Don't Let Me Fall Asleep" with PartyNextDoor, "Stay Down" with Busta Rhymes, a reference track for Dr. Dre's Detox, a collaboration with Roddy Ricch, and most recently in June, "Sound 42/Need Me." On Wednesday (November 25), another unreleased Drake track titled "Come Back To Me" suddenly appeared on various social media platforms. "It's okay, say that you made a mistake / You love me, love just don't fade away / It's okay, okay to miss me," Drake croons on the slow-burning, lovelorn track. Fans have joined together on social media to take their wild guesses as to when this one was recorded and for what album, but we'll leave that for you to decide. We know you're disappointed that we won't be sharing "Come Back To Me" here, but you won't have any trouble finding the song on Twitter or SoundCloud. View the full article
  21. He's known for his outrageous antics just to keep him in the spotlight, so Jake Paul's take on coronavirus isn't surprising. Many social media stars have found themselves in trouble with the law this year as they've hosted mansion parties across the United States. Hundreds, even thousands of guests have attended their clandestine, illegal pandemic get-togethers that have often ended in arrests, fines, or lawsuits. As COVID-19 cases surge across America and beyond, we're entering yet another lockdown phase. That's not something that will stop Jake Paul from living his best potentially super-spreader life because he reportedly believes that the virus is a hoax. Phillip Faraone / Stringer / Getty Images In a bizarre interview with Daily Beat, Jake Paul spoke about how his "medical friends" have told him that masks are ineffective. "People like yourself, or people who go on Twitter and read articles all day, you know, 98 percent of news is fake, so how do we know what’s actually real, and what we’re actually supposed to do?" asked Paul. "I see people on Twitter complaining and being all upset, and saying this person knows this or that, but no one actually knows what to believe. Medical professionals have also said that masks do absolutely nothing to prevent the spread of coronavirus," he continued. The interviewer told him that wasn't true, and that's when Paul seemed to come unhinged. "Yes they have. Yes they have. You’re arrogant. You’re very arrogant for saying that they haven’t said that," Paul replied. "I’m referring to dozens and dozens of my medical friends—doctors, people with PhDs—who say masks do absolutely nothing to stop the spread of coronavirus... I’m not here to have a debate with you about it, I’m just telling you what I’ve been told." He then told the writer that they needed to open their mind "as someone who controls media, and influences a lot of what people read and say and breathe and do." Jake Paul also condemned celebrities for virtue-signaling about the virus while secretly attending no-mask parties. [via] View the full article
  22. The Grammys discussions have only intensified as the hours tick by, and Drake is sharing a few thoughts about how he feels regarding the snubbed artists. Yesterday (November 24), The Recording Academy shared the nominations for the 2021 Grammy Awards, and almost immediately social media lit up with criticisms from not only fans, but musicians. There were notable exclusions that have continued to make headlines, and Drake shared that as a culture, we need to stop leaning on award shows such as these for validation. John Phillips / Stringer / Getty Images "I think we should stop allowing ourselves to be shocked every year by the disconnect between impactful music and these awards and just accept that what once was the highest form of recognition may no longer matter to the artists that exist now and the ones that come after," penned the rapper. "It's like a relative you keep expecting to fix up but they just can't change their ways." "The other day I said @theweeknd was a lock for either album or song of the year along with countless other reasonable assumptions and it just never goes that way," Drake continued. "This is a great time for somebody to start something new that we can build up over time and pass on to the generations to come." He then named Lil Baby, Pop Smoke, PartyNextDooor, and Popcaan as just a few artists who deserved more credit. Some people pointed out that there are award shows like the BET Awards, the BET Hip Hop Awards, and the Soul Train Awards that cater to rap, hip hop, and R&B music, but we'll just have to wait and see if Drake "builds up" something for the culture in the future. In the meantime, we'll all continue to impatiently wait for Certified Lover Boy's release. Instagram Instagram View the full article
  23. After months of flaunting her relationship with Machine Gun Kelly on social media, Megan Fox filed for divorce. Last weekend, Megan and MGK made their red carpet debut together at the American Music Awards. The actress gushed over her budding romance with the rap-rock star when she introduced him prior to his performances of "Bloody Valentine" and "My Ex's Best Friend." She said, "Once in a lifetime, magic can happen. For this next performer, we've all been under his spell since his debut in 2012." As fans have watched Megan and MGK fawn over one another, the actress has been at odds with her estranged husband, 90210 alum Brian Austin Green. They've traded subtle digs at one another throughout the year, but Megan has decided to bite the bullet and officially file for divorce immediately ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday. Fox and Green met back in 2004 when she was 18 and he was 30. After a three year engagement and a break-up or two, the couple wed in 2010. They separated earlier this year in May and share three sons together: Noah Shannon, 8, Bodhi Ransom, 6, and Journey River, 4. Last year, Fox asked the court to dismiss her last divorce petition in April 2019. [via] View the full article
  24. The Recording Academy is taking hits from all sides following the reveal of their 2021 Grammy nominations. There were quite a few exclusions, many of which caused controversy—but none quite like that of The Weeknd's hit album After Hours. The No. 1 charting project was an international success and the singer continues to play on the overall theme of the album, even attending the recent American Music Awards in full After Hours garb. However, The Grammys decided that The Weeknd didn't deserve recognition at all, and it once again sparked a conversation about their relevancy in the growing, and changing, diverse culture of popular music. Charlamagne made an appearance on MSNBC where he spoke on the disconnect that the Grammys has from the culture. "The Grammys definitely messed up by snubbing The Weeknd but the Grammys are a bunch of culturally clueless White people so I don't expect them to get it," said Charlamagne. "I hate seeing all of these brothas and sistas who are extremely pro-Black seeking this validation from a White award show like that. It shouldn't matter at this point what the Grammys think about our culture." "I get it... I understand that musicians want a reward and to be validated but yo, The Weeknd is still gon' wake up The Weeknd tomorrow," he continued. "Guess what tomorrow is, the beginning of the weeknd." Charlamagne added that other artists like Lil Baby and Roddy Ricch shouldn't worry about being excluded or unrecognized because it doesn't change who they are. "What the Grammys won't do, I'm sure the Soul Train Awards will." Check out the clip below. View the full article
  25. It's clear that Future has moved on from Lori Harvey with his rumored new girlfriend Dess Dior, but the rumor mill is in full force about Lori's alleged new man, Michael B. Jordan. The actor was recently named PEOPLE's Sexiest Man Alive, and while his interview with the publication made it seem as if he's single, TMZ reports that he's also been doing a bit of mingling. Jordan was reportedly photographed with Lori Harvey as they deplaned a Delta flight together in Atlanta. Harvey calls the ATL home, so it's speculated that the pair of famous figures are celebrating the Thanksgiving holiday together. It's unclear exactly when Future and Lori decided to call it quits, but it's reported that they broke up just a few months ago back in August. Prior to that relationship, Lori was reportedly tied to Diddy, as they were spotted in Italy together in 2019. Meanwhile, Jordan told PEOPLE that the type of woman he's looking for has to have "a sense of humor, true understanding, because [an actor’s] life is not conducive to a relationship—it’s really not." He added, "Somebody that’s nurturing. I’ve got a list. That’s probably why my ass is still single, but yeah, it’s a list." Jordan, who one day would like to get married and have children, shared specific qualities he looks for in a woman. "It’s like lips, teeth, mouth. I think I’ve paid more attention to eyes as of late, with these masks," he said. "I love a woman’s hips, thighs. Hands and feet. And what order you go, that’s a totally different question." Check out Jordan and Harvey below. [via] View the full article
