"It's crazy -- 'Anchorman' is a movie that certainly fit the time when it came out and every year it gets more and more relevant," he said. "We talk about all these anchormen on the air now and they're all kind of Ron Burgundy-esque guys. So yes, sadly, the character has gotten more and more relevant as the news has gotten to be nothing more than a ratings-driven profit machine that is never going to examine any of the real power in this country." Though he wouldn't reveal much of the plot, McKay did promise more cameos in "Anchorman 2" in addition to the returning main cast. Opening statements were given yesterday for the rapper’s murder trial, in which he allegedly shot and killed a man (John Henkel) in a botched robbery and confessed about it nearly two decades later, in 2011. Now, the NY Post reports that Dep is telling prosecutors he indeed shot someone, just not Henkel. "Why are we here?’ defense lawyer Anthony Ricco asked a Manhattan Supreme Court jury. "You have to decide whether he is guilty of the crimes charged." There seem to be inconsistencies in Dep’s description of his victim in his confession to police and Henkel’s actual appearance: Dep claimed his victim was a “clean-shaven blonde man” and Henkel had dark hair and a beard, for instance. Prosecutors have stood unwavering, despite this bombshell and claim that Henkel is the only victim that fits the details of the rapper’s confession. ‘"There are no other homicides even close to fitting the description," prosecutor David Drucker told jurors. For those that felt that a confession in and of itself means an admission of guilt, Ricco challenged, "Some people would say too late, but I would say it's never too late to seek your redemption.’” Testimony is set to run two days. The “Special Delivery” rapper, who gained fame in the early 2000s as part of Sean Diddy Combs’ Bad Boy family, faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 15 years. Kanye West, 2 Chainz, Pusha T And Big Sean Show No 'Mercy' On New Track On Wednesday (April 11), Universal Republic chairman and CEO Barry Weiss announced that the veteran rapper and producer is the latest addition to the G.O.O.D Music family, which operates under Def Jam Recordings. Q-Tip, who built his legacy as a member of the iconic group A Tribe Called Quest, released his last solo album, the previously shelved Kamaal/ The Abstract, in 2009. The Renaissance came out in 2008. They were released via Motown and Battery Records. Now he's set to drop his fourth solo LP, tentatively titled The Last Zulu, under the G.O.O.D. Music/ Def Jam umbrella. Kanye West Makes A Silent Visit To '106 And Park' With 2 Chainz "I'm excited to be a part of the great iconic Def Jam label," Q-Tip said in a statement. "I'm humbled to be a part of such a storied history. To reconnect with Barry Weiss is a great thing. As far as G.O.O.D. In other chart news, Madonna will suffer the worst second-week drop? in chart history when MDNA slips 87 percent from its debut to #8 on sales of 44,000. The cast is brilliant, especially Nathan (Robert Sheehan) and Rudy (Joseph Gilgun) whose raunchy jokes bring comedy into every one of their scenes. I had been meaning to watch this documentary about the man behind the muppet, Kevin Clash, but I only sat down and watched it when it was just the next thing on PBS. It might seem like a silly thing or that seeing Clash operate Elmo would take away the magic, but it's the complete opposite. Clash has lived an inspiring life, and what you might not know is that so much of the fun of Elmo comes from the man pulling the strings. Nothing more needs to be said. It's the best movie out in theaters this week, and easily in my top five favorite movies of 2012 already. Whedonites are going to this no matter what, but even for the skeptics out there, I'll say this: if you like horror, and if you like comedy, there is no reason to miss this movie. It's phenomenal. This vacation is well-deserved considering the amount of work that the superstar couple usually puts in. By James Montgomery Lollapalooza has hosted some memorable hip-hop acts in recent years including Ice Cube, and 2011's headliner Eminem, and this year the Chicago festival is going into overdrive. The lineup now includes J. Cole, Kendrick Lamar, Wale, Frank Ocean, Santigold, Childish Gambino and more. The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Jack White, Black Sabbath and the Black Keys top the bill for Lollapalooza 2012, set for August 3-5 in Chicago's Grant Park. Joining them are a list of top-notch electronic artists (always a passion of Perry's), including Avicii, Justice, Calvin Harris and Bassnectar. Lolla 2012 marks the only North American fest appearance for the reunited Sabbath, and it'll also be the first time in six years that the Chili Peppers (who broke through at Lolla '92) appear at the fest. In the not-so distant past, every other week there would be news about either BitTorrent sites or their users falling foul of the law. While they still have their share of problems, the rise of so-called cyberlockers and sites that index them means that at least for now the focus has been shifted. In recent months its been all about the file-hosters themselves, the Megaupload raid in January and the fall out ever since. Today we bring news of action against a site that supplied links to films, music and games hosted on file-hosters all around the world. On Monday, Greek police swooped on addresses in the cities of Athens and Thessaloniki and arrested a woman said to be 40 years-old and one of the operators of [url="http://greekddl.com/"]GreekDDL[/url]. The site, which is hosted in the United States and remains partially online but with “major upgrades” underway, was a significant player. Authorities claim that it had in excess of 500,000 members. [img]http://torrentfreak.com/images/greekddl.jpg[/img] To get an idea of the gravity local police are putting on the case, we can compare some recent stats. According to US authorities Megaupload, one of the world’s largest websites at the time, cost rightsholders $500m. GreekDDL (according to Alexa Greece’s 63rd largest site) allegedly cost rightsholders $85.4m (65m euros). The amounts quoted are, as always, up for debate. It is being claimed that GreekDDL had to shut down for a while in January (traffic stats do indeed show a nosedive) since much of its indexed content had been stored on Megaupload. If that was the case, presumably the ‘losses’ to rightsholders would have been counted twice in two separate cases. Authorities add that GreekDDL charged its members a subscription for access, although it’s not currently clear if these are simply donations by another name. GreekDDL did have a so-called ‘premium’ VIP section but what went on there is unclear. Nevertheless, police say that in January alone the site received 220,000 euros. It’s also claimed that the admins of the site generated “substantial amounts” of revenue both from advertising and directing site members to online gambling sites located abroad, earning “commissions of up to 40%” on the latter. Police say they want to detain two other site admins, one of whom is reportedly being tracked with the help of Swedish authorities and Interpol.
