  1. The important thing is Harper wasnt elected.
  2. This is something that hasnt really been disscussed on the board. What are peoples opinions of the canidates?
  3. aww, thanks dude :) but go where ever is cheapest.
  4. Yes, it does. I was expecting that
  5. yeah, a little like work... Well digital and canon, so that narrows it down a little. In terms of quality you cant really go wrong so it comes down to: The price range? Do you want the option of chaging lenses/flashes? How large do you want your printed picture to be? Do you want any manual control? How compact, or does size matter? (these are the kinds of things I do have to ask at work, cause most people dont know what to look for)
  6. :reallymad: :reallymad: :reallymad: :reallymad: :reallymad:
  7. are we still talking digital? Or does it matter?
  8. So heres a handy little link for those who would like to know more about photography. http://www.photo.net/ I have found that particular site very usefull and easy to navigate. More particularly, from the same site, is a link on concert photography for a dude that shall remain nameless. http://www.photo.net/concerts/mirarchi/concer_i.htm If you want help during concerts or low light situations it tells you everything you need to know from chosing cameras/accesories, film, tips, processing and even additional reading/links. I'm not sure where this would go so feel free to move it if necessary.
  9. Worked fine for me and it was hillarious. I think i heard it somewhere else though.
  10. Well if you want to shoot pics at concerts then i would suggest something with a stronger flash. Depending on how far you are away from the subject the built in flash may not be enough, and you can get compact digitals that have hot shoe adapters. And for the option of having those kind of external accesories it gets a little pricey. As for a comparable camera to the Canon FTb. There isnt one. I may be a bit of a traditionalist but digital doesnt compare to film in terms of quality. They just dont make cameras like they used to. And what do you mean used to? If I had that camera I wouldnt let it go. I love fully manual cameras. It pisses me off when people come into the store to spend hundreds of dollars on a SLR so they can use it on automatic. Sorry, off on a rant there. Back to the point. I like Canon. If you want to shoot at concerts but dont plan on making too large of enlargements then you could get the Canon S1 IS. Its only a 3mp but its a 10x optical, with an image stabilizer and a swiviling display (which i think would be handy at a concert) Give me a better idea of what you want. As for something comparable pricewise to the FTb, I dont know, It came out in the late 70s.
  11. I was just about to post the same thing. (In fact a lot of people have been posting what I wanted to say before I got the chance lately) I can understand the security reason's to an extent, but c'mon, who cares what he wears to bed, or if he was caught looking out a window. He may be the president but I didnt know he was required to sleep in a windowless basement in a suit at all times. I'd be a little concerned if he were running around the place naked but standing by a window in pajamas doesnt deserve this much press.
  12. Good call. Way to put me in my place.
  13. I don't even understand womens magazines. They have these inspirational stories about modern day women, yet the entire mag is filled with skiney models in ads right next to the article on diets, makeup (dont get me started), and articles on "how to please your man". its sick any remotley meaningfull article they print, is hypocritical and thus invalid because of the amount of other bullsit they print.
  14. depends on what you're looking for but cjules is right, most people wont ever need over 5mp. DAIC, what kind of features are you looking for? and whats the price range? ...i work in a photography store, if you want i can recomend some things
  15. sorry to get technical but if we're talking about bands that started in the 80's then ramones wouldnt be one of them. they started out in the 70's. and by started i dont mean got together to practice in some guys garage, but actually released a studio album. now that i think about the cure released their full lengh in 79
  16. as i scrolled down, i was wondering why the cure wasnt mentioned...and then there it was in large bold letters
  17. One last question...well really old question asked again. Will opening these two ports that I need cause any problems for either computer?
  18. Shit, that was a typo, that was suppose to be 100% :rotfl: At first I didn't realize why Jip was laughing.
  19. Thanks for all your help everyone. I’ll try the first link you posted Ken, that looked pretty straight forward. And Umma, that link you posted was actually the site I visited before but was down when I tried again. It seems to be working fine now. If I have any more questions I’ll be sure to post.
  20. Method: I seen that page and its pretty misleading. Because it IS avoidable. I even went into the forums (which are a lot more useful than the FAQ page), at one point I found the page that gave you instructions on how to fix this problem, but the page isn’t up any more. Wolfie - I know nothing about routers. Or how to use them. My room mate is just getting into all this kind of stuff so he doesn’t know either. And I don’t want to screw up anything on his computer. Opening certain ports wont cause any problems will it? It’s a DL - 604
