It's been rumored that Tupac didn't die at all and instead just changed his identity. This was hinted in one of his final songs. The people who believe this point to the fact that he began going by a second name right before his disappearance.

Im not a big rap fan, but... some of Tupac's stuff was well produced. He's a cut above most in that genre
