The Simpsons' same sex wedding

'The Simpsons' are set to tackle a same sex marriage.

Matt Groening, the show's creator, has told a convention in the States that they are planning a gay wedding.

Apparently Homer, who applies for the position of minister on the internet, will perform the ceremony.

A long-time character will come out of the closet for the storyline and there's plenty of speculation about who it will be.

Montgomery Burns' assistant Waylon Smithers has been mooted as the secret gay character, as have Marge's sisters Selma and Patty. Word is one of them will wed a golf professional.

Hmm. I've been thinking Lenny-Carl.

Only one character is supposed to be "coming out", but it could be argued that Lenny, like Smithers, is already out. That leaves Carl free to profess his love. ;)
