WinMX 4.0 was rumoured to be released in April, then May.

It's June 13th right here, and no WinMX 4.

Just some BETA version, still in the 3.x series.

They take this long, they better deliver. Though, I don't know what they can deliver, that will really make it seem worthwhile after more than a year of public inactivity. I mean, all anyone is really looking for these days is anon features, or some other form of protection. I seriously doubt they have anything remotely resembling that now.

It'll probably just be another "multi-network" client like Xolox and Shareaza, with a new GUI.

I don't think so Ken. It looks that they will improve the client and they never mention multi-network

With the protocol upgrade it is hoped  search coverage will be near-100%, which will translate into vastly-improved search results, especially for rare files.

That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
