David Byrne of The Talking Heads put this nifty offbeat soundtrack together for director Jonathan Demme's (Silence of the Lamb) clever comedic thriller in 1986. The soundtrack features an assorted group of eclectic artists including a reggae version of The Trogg's Wild Thing :

Loco De Amor ( Crazy for Love) - David y Celia - 3:45

Ever Fallen in Love - Fine Young Cannibals - 3:48

Zero, Zero Seven Charlie - UB40 - 3:48

Not My Slave - Oingo Boingo - 4:23

You Dont Have to Cry - Jimmy Cliff - 3:57

With You or Without You - Steve Jones - 4:46

Highlife - Sonny Okkossum - 3:41

Man With a Gun - Jerry Harrison - 4:32

Temptation - New Order - 3:28

Wild Thing - Sister Carol 4:05

The movie stars Jeff Daniels, whose uptight Wall Street life is turned upside down by 'something wild' Melanie Griffith, who whisks him away to her highschool reunion, only

to eventually bring the wrath of evil ex-boyfriend Ray Liotta.

See the movie--you will want the soundtrack.

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
