New Band - Arbo

Heard a demo for a new band that's beginning to break on XM and college radio. They sound like a cross between Nirvana and the Kinks and I think they may go places. You can give their tunes a listen here:

Too, I don't know, bland I guess.

The lyrics are nothing to write home about (pun intended).

They almost sound like a subdued, rounded off Bush, and less like Nirvana.

All in all, I might be able to fall asleep to this music, if it weren't for the fact that the lead singer can't sing very well (neither could Kurt Cobain, but that wasn't nearly as bland, and the lyrics were really something).

Did you sample each cut? I think for a young band (they're all in their early 20s), its a pretty good effort for a start. But thats just my opinion...

well of the two tracks I finally got to hear.... they arent that bad..... but they definitely sounded better after a glass of wine :drunk:

I can hear the Kinks in there too.... and maybe a bit of Oasis.... though I dont really listen to Oasis so maybe I mean somebody else, I think it's Oasis... but then they just copied the Beatles anyway... so maybe I mean the Beatles...]

who's Nirvana?

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
