As we continue at breakneck speed through October The Gallery is proud to present yet another massive album launch alongside its usual formula of the biggest and best djs both established stars and future talent in our amazing home at the Ministry of Sound. This week its all about the seminal Global Underground label and its brand new mix compilation ‘Nick Warren - Global Underground: 035 – Lima’ which gets its UK launch with fellow Gallery superstars Hernan Cattaneo and Seb Fontaine joining Nick Warren for one very special Box lineup guaranteed to do some serious damage.

Hernan Cattaneo continues his monthly love affair with The Gallery by headlining proceedings. His monthly sets in the Box are fast becoming some of the most popular and most talked about Gallery’s of the year and it comes as no surprise to us here at Gallery HQ. Long term fans of Mr Cattaneo, a purveyor of some of the best, most cutting edge sounds around he remains one of the most grounded and genuinely passionate people in dance music winning him legions of fans worldwide and we are very proud to have him as resident here at The Gallery.

Global Underground continue their worldwide DJ series with the latest mix to come from label mainstay Nick Warren. Following on from last year´s Paris album, Nick returns to Global Underground with ´GU035: Lima´, with a totally exclusive track list that includes tracks and remixes from Paul Rogers, Michael Burns, Alex Dolby, Perc, and the much accoladed Robert Babicz remix of recent Way Out West single ´Spaceman´.

A stalwart of the Global Underground DJ contingent, Nick Warren returns to the series following the huge success of his Paris CD in 2007. He has sold over 110,000 GU compilations in the UK alone over his 11 year history with the label and remains a hugely popular figure both worldwide and at his London home of The Gallery. Peruvian capital Lima is the base for his latest instalment, and for the first time Nick has compiled an entirely exclusive track list to capture the sound and ambience of this historic former Incan city. He has sourced tracks far and wide, making this a truly unique mix, and one that showcases his ability as curator and DJ par excellence which will be on show tonight as he plays a very special launch set in the amazing main room of the Ministry of Sound.

Going Places has reached the grand old age of five and it only seems like yesterday when we held our first party in T2 at The Gallery and were promptly offered a monthly residency by Danny Newman just a few hours into the first event! Since then Going Places has criss-crossed the globe pursuing the freshest international talent each month and offering them a platform to break into the rigid London scene having provided Tony Senghore, Tiger Stripes and Muzzaik with their UK debuts among others.

For this their celebrations of the birthday variety the Going Places massive are returning to their spiritual home, The Gallery; providing a special ‘Going Places Heroes’ line-up of UK & international guests in the shape of Holland’s 16 Bit Lolitas and the UK’s very own Jody Wisternoff from Way Out West. Joining the jet setters lineup is Going Places very own leading lady Tania von Pear alongside rising talents Ilana Belsky and Rick Maia. Meanwhile the Baby Box sees Stereo Tek lead the charge whilst Glory Hole do their thing in the Lounge. Not half!

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
