Believe it or not, we don't have an official thread to cover this, so I will start with a list of recent concerts I have seen in person. Next stops: M83 this month at LAs Echoplex and later, San Francisco's Outlands Festival to see Radiohead, Wilco, Beck and the Broken Social Scene in August.

I don't go to enough gigs to be honest... must do better.

Last gig was Ryan Adams in Glasgow last December. It was the last night of his tour and it was a show and a half. He has a bit of a reputation of being surly and not speaking to the crowd but he was fab - a highly entertaining show.

Next up (currently!) is REM at Lancashire Cricket Ground in August. We saw them on the last world tour and they were pretty tasty and with the new stuff off Accelerate currently blowing me away it was an excuse to head up to Manchester for a few days and check them out again.

I'm off to check Seetickets as we speak.... I seem to have done more comedy than music live of late.

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
