Girls Aloud - Call The Shots

Static tone on the phone I'll be breaking again

Must be something better, babe

All the names that you called out in bed seem to fade

To sometime never planned

I won't cry for all the hunger in my heart, no

I won't cry because I've made it through this far

Just coz you're raising the bet and call the shots now on me, ooh

It really doesn't phase me how you spend your time, ooh-oooh

Just coz you're raising the bet and call the shots now on me, ooh

It really doesn't phase me how you spend your time, ooh-oooh

Out of the fire that burns inside me

A phoenix is rising

If you don't feel that you can love me

I won't shoot you down

I won't cry for all the hunger in my heart, no

I won't cry because I've stumbled through this far

Just coz you're raising the bet and call the shots now on me, ooh

It really doesn't phase me how you spend your time, ooh-oooh

Just coz you're raising the bet and call the shots now on me, ooh

It really doesn't phase me how you spend your time, ooh-oooh

I've seen life burn bright, I've seen it shimmer

They fade like starlight to a glimmer

I've seen life flow by, like a river

So full of twilight, dreams that glitter

Just coz you're raising the bet and call the shots now on me, ooh

It really doesn't phase me how you spend your time, ooh-oooh

Just coz you're raising the bet and call the shots now on me, ooh

It really doesn't phase me how you spend your time, ooh-oooh

Catchy song. Here is some background from Wikipedia:

"Girls Aloud are a British girl group created by ITV1 talent show Popstars: The Rivals in 2002. The group, consisting of Cheryl Cole (née Tweedy), Nadine Coyle, Sarah Harding, Nicola Roberts and Kimberley Walsh, has become one of the most successful British pop groups of the decade, with a record-breaking seventeen consecutive Top 10 singles (including three number ones), four platinum albums (including a number one) and record sales in excess of 4.2 million in the UK."

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
