Brings back memories, although I've only done the full trip as a tourist on a coach.

1999. I did a full tour of the west coast with my parents and brother, but only a little bit of each stop. I landed in LA and travelled to Las Vegas, Palm Springs, Disney World, Grand Canyon, some gold mining ghost towns, hoover dam and San Francisco and some other places along the way.

I loved it, even if I didn't see the "real America".

From 7:05 to 6:54, the Main Headquarters of Farmers Group Inc. (Farmers Insurance), can be seen on the left of the screen. It is comprised of 3 buildings, the first and tallest being the original, followed by the two later ones. I was employed with Farmers from '96 to '05, and made a couple trips down to this site. The main office is amazing, especially the IT area. I had done a spell on the Fleet desk in Simi Valley and got to bring a 300M back to the regional manager in Simi. The fleet days were fun.

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
