Reuters reports that a war of words has broken out between the US and China over copyright:

"U.S. complaints to the WTO over commercial piracy in China will "badly damage" cooperation, Vice Premier Wu Yi warned today, insisting that China has made great strides in protecting patents and copyrights.

Earlier this month, Washington launched two cases at the World Trade Organization claiming that Beijing was not doing enough to punish illegal copiers of films and music and that its restrictions on entertainment imports violated trade rules."

Personally I think current copyright laws are outdated and unjust. They need to be fixed first. As far as China or any third world country goes, I don't like how the media industries are using the US government to bully other governments into conforming and enforcing their idea of what is right or wrong. There are much more important problems right here in the USA. We should worry more about our own problems before we worry about the problems of other nations.

We need to sell copyrighted goods at cheaper prices in the third world and put pressure on other nations. This will help undercut piracy.

nuke 'em. If any other country complains, nuke them too. If there are any nukes left over, nuke Californie because the weekly earthquakes, firestorms and mud slides aren't gettin' the job done.

You forgot to add Enron Energy packages

But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
