The Great Global Warming Swindle

Malicious Intent

Recommended Posts

Channel 4 looks at how politics, billions in government funding, environmental groups and environmental journalists desperate for a story are perpetuating misinformation on climate change. The documentary covers how data is misrepresented by the environmentalists and provides alternatives.

Is global warning just an attack on cars and America, as a co-founder of Greenpeace believes? Or is it a combination the 1970's global freezing treat and Margaret Thatcher's attempt to break powerful coal mining unions by using nuclear power? Or is global warming just a convenient lie for all involved? A lie that needs ever increasing hysteria to keep it going...

The over population of humans makes the issue real - humans are not doing the planet many favors. Call Global warming what you want, but we not taking care of this planet

Pretty decent.

The point being that the sun is driving all climate change and that human action has zero effect on it.

who cares if it's an attack on coal mines? Nuclear power is the best source of energy if treated correctly

You should watch the video Method. The point is that Thatcher, with the goal of prompting nuclear power, gave the global warming theory traction by paying scientists to prove that it is true. The result was the foundation that led to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, where lots of the hysteria and "all scientists agree" rhetoric comes from.

Dude - we may not be looking after this planet, but getting caught up on a climate change bandwagon without knowing all the facts isn't going to help. We need to keep focus on the real damage we are doing.

I don't know what side to believe, but I take a strong stance against the precautionary theory. I don't want to give up my leisure time, money and personal freedoms on the chance environmentalists are right. Besides, since the Conservative party announced today they would introduce new taxes on air travel, there isn't much point in looking after the planet since we are banning everyone but the rich from seeing it.

I couldn't agree more. Whether the planet's demise is being caused by Global Warming or not, is a matter of semantics. We should be addressing the degradation of the planet, overpopulation issues, the poisoning of the water and the air, etc. This issue is not WHAT CAUSED IT, the issue is WHAT IS THE PROBLEM, and how do we address it

Former White House official defends editing of climate papers

WASHINGTON — A former White House official accused of improperly editing reports on global warming defended his editorial changes Monday as reflecting views expressed in a 2001 report by the National Academy of Sciences.

House Democrats said the 181 changes made in three climate reports reflected a consistent attempt to emphasize uncertainties surrounding the science of climate change and undercut the broad conclusions that manmade emissions are warming the earth.

Philip Cooney, former chief of staff at the White House Council on Environmental Quality, acknowledged at a House hearing that some of the changes he made were "to align these communications with the administration's stated policy" on climate change.

Pathetic. They care more about their own political views then the truth

Good job everyone - your brand of extremism has made the world a better place.

I don't think it's being extremist or alarming to say that our oceans, lands, water and air need cleaned up. Debating the cause while ignoring the problems does not help any of us.

Dude, I still don't follow your logic. You need to understand the cause to tackle a problem.

Here is a premise for you

"The cause of bad breath is wearing too many clothes."

Do you want to debate that is really the cause of bad breath, or are you going to stop wearing clothes to avoid wasting time on debate?

However, you will probably be pleased to know there are some rational arguments against this documentary:

It is so rational that it is a bit slow and boring, but if you are interested in the debate, it is essential viewing.

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
