Help Me And I Will Love You Forever!

I'm doing a college project on "opinion" and one of the facets of this is related to entertainment. With accordance to the idea, I picked three independent artists, of polarised genres, and am now pitching opinions on them both.

I first put down my opinions on small artists (most of which I discovered through MySpace) and then asked the ones that I rated myself if they minded me having them take part. These were the first good ones (IMO) to reply so I'm using them as case studies.

Tim Pare - Singer-songwriter who has been hailed by The Guardian, The Express and The Daily Mail as a "tip for 2007", he has already been really helpful to me.

Mukul - Dark hip-hop artist, here's an mp3 of his latest single:

Chris Singleton - Power-pop from London based Dubliner. Bit of a hype in his homeland:

Please let me know what you think and if you're going to support me, please support these artists too.

Thankyou!

What are the requirements of your assignment?

Tim Pare. Pretty mellow folk stuff; probably the kind of music I would like to have in the background at a coffee house, if I was trying to put the make on a girl :) The best cuts were probably Looking to Me and Shoot To Win - they are bit more melodic and lively then the other forgettable cuts.

The link didnt work for Chris Singleton's sample, so I went to the website. Would need to hear more as it was just a snippet--probably a little bit too pop for me, but I dont want to dismiss it until I've heard more.

Of the three, I like the Mukul cut best - nice techno tune - it seemed more contemporary than the others.

Nope - checked his profile. He's a student

I am indeed, so thankyou for your help DudeAsInCool; it would really help to hear what the rest of you think too.

Part of the project is trying to get people of different demorgaphics to say what they think, so this would be users of BeatKing's forums ideas. I will try other forums too.

Thanks again.

..and..as to the music posted on those links..well....i find most of it to be fairly bland and innocuous..as dude says..it sounds like coffee house backround muzak.....just my forum opinion mate.... :)

no offence to waitingroom dude but i don't even bother checking out people's music suggestions anymore...i've learnt enough from the past to know that i'm nearly ALWAYS disappointed ('bland and innocuous').

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
