Download New Godsmack Single at FMQB.com!

February 26, 2004

Godsmack

A broadcast-quality MP3 of Godsmack’s first single, "Running Blind," from their long-awaited acoustic EP The Other Side (in stores March 16), is available for download today (2/26) at 5 p.m. ET at FMQB.com. Click here to go to the download page. Produced by Godsmack singer Sully Erna, the EP will feature three new songs including the single, as well as acoustic versions of previous Godsmack hits. The EP was announced last fall, but delayed until 2004 so it would not affect sales of the band's latest album, 2003's Faceless. Continuing the current Wonka-inspired trend, one copy of the EP will contain a "golden ticket," giving one fan the chance to host a Godsmack acoustic performance in that fan's own living room.

Well, I like acoustic versions of songs.

I downloaded it. I'm not readily familiar with Godsmack. I've heard "I stand alone" (or something along those lines).

When listening, they sound a lot like Metallica, except....

1.) The are playing their instruments upside down

2.) The songs seems out of synch

3.) Out of tune?

4.) The lead singer sounds like a subdued James Hetfield, on morphine.

5.) It made my cat sick, and they will be getting the vet bill.

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
