Whitney Houston's Estate Entertaining Idea Of Hologram Tour: Report

Seven years after her untimely and shocking death, fans may be able to see Whitney Houston—or at least her hologram—on tour. The late singer was found unresponsive inside her suite at the Beverly Hills Hotel during Grammy weekend in 2012, and since that time Houston's estate has been procuring business dealings to keep her memory, and career, alive. Pat Houston, Whitney's sister-in-law and former manager, recently spoke with The New York Times and told them that the world can expect to see much more of Ms. Houston in the years to come.

"Everything is about timing for me," Pat said. "It’s been quite emotional for the past seven years. But now it’s about being strategic." Houston's death, which was ruled to be an accidental overdose of a cocktail of medications paired with cocaine, further sullied the singer's reputation that was the center of addiction rumors, especially during her relationship with R&B star Bobby Brown. However, Houston was a record-breaking, chart-topping icon whose vocals were unmatched.

"Before she passed, there was so much negativity around the name; it wasn’t about the music anymore," Pat stated. "People had forgotten how great she was. They let all the personal things about her life outweigh why they fell in love with her in the first place." Houston's vault is overflowing with unreleased music, and her estate is reportedly in talks to ink deals for a Whitney Broadway musical and a Vegas-style production.

“The hologram has taken precedence over everything,” Pat said. Hologram shows aren't new, as artists like Maria Callas, Roy Orbison, Tupac Shakur, Michael Jackson, and Frank Zappa have already taken center stage. According to NYT, the Houston hologram will belt out her hit tracks while backed by her original band and backup singers—including her brother Gary, Pat Houston’s husband.
