I didn't count but it was about 25-30 days. It's not the regular chicken. It's those small sized chickens. We call them midget-chicken

you can imagine how small those chicks are lol

They are so adorable! Are you going to keep them all as pets?

yes I am.

It's true. Banty roosters are very tough indeed. They beat the hell out of the other "regular" roosters and the ducks too lol. You should see them in action :duck hunt: shootin'

Banty's make decent fighting cocks, so I've heard from the oldtimers. And they make good sandwiches too! I come from a long-established swamp yankee farming family--so raising animals for food is something that I grew up with. While most people go "ewww, gross" when you tell them that, all I can say is that the quality of life for chickens or other critters on my farm is infinitely better than that of the animals these same people buy at Walmart. And no steroids, antibiotic drips, or artificial additives. Just lots of elbow room, green grass and open space. And no fraternizing and no names, if you want to stick your plan to eat them.

But keeping them as pets is cool in my book too. I've kept a few critters myself that had been destined for the auction or the freezer, mostly because someone had named them...Blubo the sheep was the lord of the farm for 11 years...

Congratulations on the latest additions to your family, Method!

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
