The strange cases of Jussie Smollett and R. Kelly have finally overlapped. Earlier today, R. Kelly's lawyer showed up to court to get permission from the judge to allow Kells to travel outside of the U.S. Although the motion was withdrawn, R. Kelly's lawyer didn't waste time bringing up the scandals surrounding Avenatti and Kim Foxx.

According to TMZ, R. Kelly's lawyer, Steve Greenberg, is already raising the extortion charges against Michael Avenatti is Kelly's criminal case. Ahead of the hearing, Greenberg held a press conference saying that he's requesting all recorded documents of conversation between Avenatti and Foxx. Greenberg filed a motion earlier today claiming Avenatti's boasted about his power to put pressure on Nike. He also accused Avenatti of discussing Kelly's alleged sex tapes with State's Attorney Kim Foxx and acting as "a de facto prosecutor."

He continued to call out Foxx for her involvement in Jussie Smollett's case. He said her involvement in Jussie Smollett's case displays that she's "able to be influenced and wowed." Foxx recused herself from her case due to her conversations with Tina Tchen. Greenberg thinks Avenatti may have "bullied or just simply manipulated" Kim Foxx.

Avenatti did clap back at Greenberg's claims, saying, "[Greenberg] is now trying to distract attention away from the clear guilt of his client by raising bogus arguments about me and Kim Foxx. The evidence is the evidence. Multiple witnesses/tapes, plus DNA. R Kelly will be convicted for his sexual abuse of girls."

But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
