Tomorrow is going to be a busy day - I have back to back conference calls all morning through mid-afternoon, a bunch of stuff to read, and a bunch of appts to set. I'll be happy when the weekend actually arrives...

How about you?

Wow.. Dude...you're up early.

My new job is going great...I feel like I got them by the balls. I hate to brag but these people have no idea what they're in for...

NO disrespect to you Dude being a Cali guy and all but my new firm is California-based and let's just say I have to bring them up to par. They all look like they're going golfing... :D It's nice in a sense but I'm a mover and a shaker and we need to get some things straightened out. But! I get a hold of myself and say one day at a time...regardless...I'm excited about this job...have MUCH to share and well...that's about it. I got my first check...ca ching!

Tonight: Work!

Tomorrow: Party at my cousins

Sunday...who knows?

Have a good one all!

I have two presentations on Monday so the weekend will probably be spent working on stuff for those, and random other stuff that's coming due soon.

There's a Dropping Daylight show tomorrow night but I only know one person who likes them that lives here, and he's currently not speaking to me... so I might go to that.... but it has awkward-potential.

Hispanic Student Association Banquet tonight & Frat Brother's wedding tomorrow night ... between those events and Sunday, I have to squeeze in a 5 page paper, 15 chapters worth of workbook material that I've been slacking on, and studying for tests and finals coming up ... oh... and making sure my grades are very good ;)

I'm not going to lie. Schools out and work doesn't start until Monday so I'm going to play some of my games. @ 16 hours a day.

Friday I had to sit in the Houston Comets locker room while they had practice ( ) at least they have big screen tv with cable in there, so I don't go completly insane!!

Today....I am in a good mood today, I had a really good morning today, if you know what I mean!! ;) !! And tonight I have to work Joe Satriani and Eric Johnson at the good ole pavilion. That should be a good show! Just hope I get to see some of it!

And tomorrow I have to work something called RBD, I think it is some Latin American thing, or so I heard.

omfg it hasn't stopped raining since Thursday night. There are worms everywhere, and I hate worms more than anything else on this entire planet. I'd rather be stuck in a room full of poisonous spiders than a room full of worms. I'm not going out til it stops raining.

edit: Congrats Warflower, glad to hear it's all going well. :)

When walking downtown with some people who were harrassing me and my irrational fear, I completely flipped out on one of them..... Not cool.

We walked to the Dropping Daylight/Down and Above show (local bands that are pretty decent) then went over to a Rage Against the Machine tribute band's show.... Good times were had by all (except the guy I slugged).

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
