Kevin Spacey's Attempt To Skip Court Appearance Denied: Report

Just before Kevin Spacey reappeared after not being spotted in over a year, he was accused of sexually assaulting a teenage boy who is the son of a former Boston TV news anchor. The assault allegedly took place in July 2016. "Spacey bought him drink after drink after drink and when my son was drunk, Spacey made his move and sexually assaulted him," the teen's mother said. 

New reports from Page Six detail how the "House of Cards" actor tried to get out of his arraignment but the judge denied the motion. The publication details how Kevin plans to plead not guilty to felony indecent assault and battery. Kevin and his lawyer's tried to argue that his presence at court would "amplify the negative publicity already generated in connection with this case.”

They also tried to argue that showing up to court may taint the jurors and “heighten prejudicial media interest in the case."

"The complainant has shown a tremendous amount of courage in coming forward," Mitchell Garabedian, attorney for the accuser told NBC Boston. "Let the facts be presented, the relevant law applied and a just and fair verdict rendered."

Kevin has to appear at the Nantucket District Court on January 7th.
