Letitia Wright is a queen, but a year ago, the world had little idea of who she was. When Black Panther dropped in February though, everything changed for the young star. She followed that appearance with spots in other high grossing films such as Avengers: Infinity War and Ready Player One. The catalog of films that Wright has starred in has earned her the number one spot on Fandango's Box Office earner list.

Wright sits atop the list with $1.55 billion, having appeared in Black Panther ($700,059,566), Avengers: Infinity War ($678,815,482), Ready Player One ($137,690,172), and The Commuter (36,343,858). The number two spot was a tie between Chadwick Boseman, Winston Duke, Danai Gurira, Florence Kasumba, and Sebastian Stan with $1.38 billion. Samuel Jackson takes the number 3 spot with $1.29 billion, Chris Pratt came next with $1.1 billion, and Josh Brolin grabbed the number 5 position with $1 billion. As you can see, Marvel ruled the box office.

Wright responded to Fandango's announcement with a tweet suggesting that she would like to see that money in her possession. "Dope dope. just deposit that amount into my bank account ??," joked the young actress. Fandango's list only compiles the actors and actresses that starred in the highest grossing movies, for the highest paid stars, head here

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
