Should Google be criticized, or our government for pushing the notion of free trade while forgetting Democratic values? i think it's interesting that critics cry out free speech, and I agree with them - but where are their voices for lost American jobs thanks to US Steel, WalMart, etc?

Chinese web users can see full, uncensored results for their Google search by replacing "&meta=" with "&meta=cr%3DcountryBR" in the URL. Once the string is replaced, the censorship will not affect the results.

LISBON (Reuters) - Microsoft Corp Chairman Bill Gates said on Wednesday that government attempts to censor Web sites or blogs would fail since the banned information could get out in defiance of official efforts.

The spread of private e-mail means online users could distribute banned news despite government injunctions, he told a news conference.
