Wrestlers make the best Singers

Okay, I had to feel a little strange when I posted the story about the KISS tribute album yesterday, because alongside guys like motorhead there was a pro-wrestler. Apparently he doesn't suck.

So I thought I'd stroll down memory lane and check out how many albums the WWF/WWE has released. It's an armload. I found a site offering the album of which I'm attaching the picture of the cover too. They even offered samples. (beware of evil pop-ups)

It was like beating your cat to death swinging your poodle as the weapon.

Here's a write-up about the most recent. Sort of racy, but probably right on about the level of talent.

So, the question I ask is this, who in the hell buys this crap? (Keep in mind I'm not referring to the albums of entrance tunes or whatever, because those are usually done by guys like Lemmy or Limp Bizkit. I mean the actual wrestlers singing)

I'm sure my dad wouldn't mind an album or two. I have one of the intro theme albums. Pretty damn good although it's edited. I got it from either CH or BMG. May as well have been Wal-Mart. Anyways, I get most of my info from the pay-per-view events he hosts. Wrestlemania XX should be big next month. That "uber gay" guy in pink is (Former) Minnesota Governor Jesse Ventura. Two guys to his left is the current chairman of the WWE, Vince McMahon. I could name several others in the picture, but that might make it look like I overly enjoy this sport.

Why stop? You left out greats like Classy Freddy Blassy, who is standing behind the now deceased Miss Elizabeth. There's Hillbilly Jim on the far left. ;)

I'm not slighting wrestling, unless they happen to pick up a mic and attempt to sing.

I'd wager the song they're about to sing is Y.M.C.A.

Now there's a great song...

I'm sure it's been a while, but how again did Miss Elizabeth die? I'm sure I've seen her on TV in the past 8 years.

And to complete who I know...

HonkeyTonk Man is in back. (in white)

Captain Lou Albano in just below HTM.

I think that is Eddie Guerrero to the right and behind the Captain.

Announcer "Mean" Gene Okerlund is front and center.

And of course, "Macho Man" Randy Savage to the far right in the background.

If the pic was clearer, I might make out a few more. (Is that JYD?)

I'm sure that is JYD.

Miss Elizabeth died @ 6-10 months ago at the home of her boyfriend. (Larry something or another- Lex Luger anyway)

Curt Henning (Mr. Perfect died in the stretch since then.

Here is a piece about both deaths by...The Ultimate Warrior.

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
