I see this phrase or some variation of it everywhere nowadays... I just laugh :rotfl:

"...in order appeal to the rapidly growing Latino population..." :read this:

Are they breeding like roaches or what?! :hyper: lol oh man .... Latino's must have just come out of their hole or something ... I see this phrase and then I look around and I'm like ... yeah ... there *are* a lot of Latino's ... but then again, I'm in Texas, so I don't know if I'd say the same thing if I lived somewherel like ummm ?Maine? or ?Alaska?

I just thought I'd share some random thought of mine ... now get back to work/studying/surfing/idling ... have a nice morning or day or evening or night

Well, I live up in Washington in a county that is 70% ..... um.... latino.

Latino itself is an awfully large lump. Think about it. Latino pretty much applies to any person that speaks spanish/portugese(Brazil). And general consensus would lump "latinos" as being brown.

OK..... but there are like what.... 30 different nationalities that lump into one of these headings or another.

I guess if we say caucasian it works.

Caucasian: any person with white skin who isn't a latino.

maybe they're trying to enlighten the elderly who think the US is still all pure white or whatever. back in school in the late 80s one of the first things we learnt was that California was already more than 50% Latino.

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
