Uganda nabs man-eating crocodile

KAMPALA - A 5m-long crocodile said to have eaten more than 80 people has been caught alive in Uganda and transferred to a sanctuary, officials said.

"Much as the residents of Luganga wanted to kill the reptile after our rangers had captured it, it is our responsibility to protect it by removing it from that area and keeping it in a safe place," Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) spokeswoman Lillian Nsubuga told Reuters.

Crocodile facts

Most species of crocodile are between 1.8 and 3 metres in length.

The smallest crocodile, the Congo dwarf crocodile, averages 1m in length.

Two types of crocodiles live in Australia - the salt water and fresh water crocodiles.

Male "salties" can reach 7 metres in length and weigh more than 1,000kg.

      But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020."
