FORT HOOD -- An Army judge today dropped the most severe abuse charge faced by a former guard at the Abu Ghraib prison.

In response to a defense motion, judge Col. James Pohl dismissed the indecent acts charge pending against Spc. Sabrina Harman.

Prosecutors agreed to dismiss the count without explanation during a pretrial hearing at Fort Hood.

"rapeist" huh?

She should be put in prison for 20 years on a charge of "Stupid" in the 1st degree............oh, and for being a prick who gives a bad name to humanity. Thanks a lot, now the U.S. military shall be known as an entity that does indeed subscribe to torture.

I bet there would not be dismissing anything if the shoe was on the other foot (or on the other should I say). <_>

Can you imagine the outrage if it happened under Clinton?

Or inhuman...

They're being protected by the admin.

Someone else was sentenced today (6 months in a military prison). I'm sure he'll be treated like a hero, and have his stay be as comfortable as possible, thanks to Bush and company.

if this happened under clinton, they would've hung him by the balls (figuratively or maybe not).

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
