Kind of made me want to hurl also!!

Maybe she didn't like it but I bet she cashed the check.

Did she have any other solo hits? Only in 1979 did she ever get into the top 40 and that was only at number 39 on the charts. I find that for her to not like the song is "implausible". <_>

Edit: The copy/paste loses something in the process. The number after Mary MacGregor is the songs highest position and then the year.

Torn Between Two Lovers  Mary MacGregor 1 1976

 For A While   Mary MacGregor 90 1977

This Girl (Has Turned Into A Woman)  Mary MacGregor 46 1977

The Wedding Song (There Is Love)  Mary MacGregor 81 1978

On this day in 1958, the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) certified the first gold record. It was Perry Como’s Catch A Falling Star on RCA Victor Records. The tune became the first to win million-seller certification, though other songs dating as far back as the 1920s may have sold a million records or more. Due to lack of a certification organization like the RIAA, they weren’t awarded the golden platter.

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
