  2. NEW YORK - Don't remember much about high school biology or physics. Couldn't tell ya how to compute a calculus problem. But, for the love of Will Smith, the theme song to "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air" remains fresh in the mind. Smith's catchy rap opened each episode of his hit `90s sitcom, in which he starred as a street-smart teen from Philly who moves in with wealthy relatives. A whole generation knows it by heart — that, and the "Saved by the Bell" song. TV themes, from "The Beverly Hillbillies" to "The Brady Bunch" to "Cheers" to "Friends," conjure up memories of cozy nights, childhood bliss and a universal nostalgia for bygone days. But, today, show themes are doing a fast fade as the networks crunch their programming budgets. Read more
  3. For months, politicians and activists have been saying that the low prices at the world's largest retailer, Wal-Mart Stores, come at a tremendous cost to its low-paid employees. They point to lawsuits that contend the company discriminates against women and forces low-paid employees to work through lunch breaks and after their shifts, without extra compensation. Wal-Mart has also been boosting its political contributions to stop initiatives aimed at forcing the retailer to raise pay and benefits. Now, as Wal-Mart rolls out a new round of workplace restrictions, employees at a Wal-Mart Super Center in Hialeah Gardens, Fla., are taking matters into their own hands. On Oct. 16, workers on the morning shift walked out in protest against the new policies and rallied outside the store, shouting "We want justice" and criticizing the company's recent policies as "inhuman." Workers said the number of participants was about 200, or nearly all of the people on the shift. Read more Right on!
  4. Keira, 21, said: "My father says, 'I wish this could have happened in five years' time, you could have been 20 and got really pissed and slept with loads of people and no-one would have known.' Kiera--I can keep a secret. Drop by sometime next time you are in...
  5. Well did you hear, there's a natural order Those most deserving will end up with the most That the cream cannot help but always rise up to the top Well I say, "Shit floats" If you thought things had changed Friend, you'd better think again Bluntly put, in the fewest of few words: Cunts are still running the world (x3) Now the working classes are obsolete They are surplus to society's needs So let 'em all kill each other And get a maid overseas. That's the word, don't you know From the guys that's running the show Let's be perfectly clear boys and girls, Cunts are still running the world (x2) Oh feed your children on crayfish and lobster tails, Find a school near the top of the league In theory I respect your right to exist I will kill you if you move in next to me Ah, it stinks, it sucks, it's anthropologically unjust Oh, but the takings are up by a third, oh so Cunts are still running the world (x2) If free market is perfectly natural Or do you think that I'm some kind of dummy It's the ideal way to order the world "Fuck the morals, does it make any money?" And if you don't like it, then leave Or use your right to protest on the street. Yeah use your right, but don't imagine that it's heard Cunts are still running the world (x6) Source: SongsMeanings.net
  6. INXS behind some Roy Ayers…Brenda Russell after some Sergio Mendes…Dr. Buzzard after some Chaka….shit like that. But also expand from there, infusing Afro-beat, conscious hip-hop, tribal/deep house, anything that’s gonna beat in the system. The point Sounds good to me

  8. In a statement issued by his lawyers, the Beatles pop star said: "Since the breakdown of his marriage Sir Paul McCartney has maintained his silence in not commenting on the media stories believing that it was best for all concerned, particularly his children, for there to be some dignity in what is a private matter. Our client would very much like to respond in public and in detail to the allegations made recently against him by his wife and published in the press but he recognises, on advice, that the only correct forum for his response to the allegations made against him is in the current divorce proceedings. "Our client will be defending these allegations vigorously and appropriately. Our client is saddened by the breakdown of his marriage and requests that his family is allowed to conduct their personal affairs out of the media spotlight for the sake of everybody involved." The response came on the day Heather Mills accused her estranged husband Paul McCartney of repeated violence against her. Explosive court papers lodged by her lawyers in their £1billion divorce battle portray him as a 'vindictive' man who once tried to choke her and even attacked her while she was pregnant. (Staff photo by Mike George) Tag is now out during recess at Willett Elementary School in Attleboro. So is touch football and any other unsupervised "chasing" games that are deemed to pose the risk of injury as well as liability to the school. "It's a time when accidents can happen," said Principal Gaylene Heppe, in her second year at the helm of Willett. Source Morons!

  15. I live 3-4 blocks from Hancock park: Hancock Park is approximately 2.2 square miles and consists of about 1,200 homes. ... Architects such as Paul Williams, A. C. Chisholm and John Austin were hired to design homes for many of the city's pioneer families. The list of families who moved into Hancock Park's first homes reads like a "Who's Who" of California: Doheny, Chandler, Huntington, Van Nuys, Crocker, Banning, Newmark, Van de Kamp and Duque, were some of the early residents. After a 1948 Supreme Court decision barring the enforcement of racial provisions in restrictive covenants, popular jazz pianist and singer Nat King Cole purchased a house in Hancock Park

  18. In two more years, my sweetheart, we will see another view Such longing for the past for such completion What was once golden has now turned a shade of grey I've become crueler in your presence They say: "be brave, there's a right way and a wrong way" This pain won't last for ever, this pain won't last for ever Two more years, there's only two more years Two more years, there's only two more years Two more years so hold on X2 You've cried enough this lifetime, my beloved polar bear Tears to fill a sea to drown a beacon To start anew all over, remove those scars from your arms To start anew all over more enlightened I know, my love, this is not the only story you can tell This pain won't last for ever, this pain won't last for ever Two more years... You don't need to find answers for questions never asked of you You don't need to find answers x2 Dead weights, balloons Drag me to you Dead weights, balloons To sleep in your arms I've become crueler since I met you I've become rougher, this world is killing me And we cover our lies with handshakes and smiles And we try to remember our alibis We tell lies to our parents, we hide in their rooms We bury our secrets in the garden Of course we could never make this love last I said of course we could never make this love last The only love we know is love for ourselves We bury our secrets in the garden Source: Sing365.com
  19. Well I think it's fine, building jumbo planes. Or taking a ride on a cosmic train. Switch on summer from a slot machine. Yes, get what you want to if you want, 'cause you can get anything. I know we've come a long way, We're changing day to day, But tell me, where do the children play? Well you roll on roads over fresh green grass. For your lorry loads pumping petrol gas. And you make them long, and you make them tough. But they just go on and on, and it seems that you can't get off. Oh, I know we've come a long way, We're changing day to day, But tell me, where do the children play? Well you've cracked the sky, scrapers fill the air. But will you keep on building higher 'til there's no more room up there? Will you make us laugh, will you make us cry? Will you tell us when to live, will you tell us when to die? I know we've come a long way, We're changing day to day, But tell me, where do the children play? Source: Sing365.com
