  1. Jordan Brand reportedly has plans to release a special edition Air Jordan 12 this Summer in celebration of the 2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup. Rumors of the FIBA Air Jordan 12 have been circulating for months but now we finally have our best look at what to expect. Air Jordan 12 FIBA/Sneaker Bar Detroit As seen in the newly unveiled photos, the FIBA 12s will come in a white tumbled leather supported by gold accents and university red detailing about the inner lining, heel and branding on the tongue. Additionally, the flags of the countries competing in the 2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup can be spotted on the 12's mudguard if you look closely, while Chinese symbols run down the heel tab. While these early images don't provide the best glimpse, you can still get a good vibe for the overall look. Rumors suggest the FIBA 12s, priced at $190, will be releasing on August 24 - just days before the tournament kicks off in China. Scroll down for additional images and stay tuned for the official release details. 2. Look, Yung Bans isn't here for playing "Daddy's credit card." In fact, the days of footing the bill are long gone. By his own telling, Bans will reserve the allocation of additional funds for one singular purpose - securing sexual pleasure for his "whole clique." Morally ambiguous to be sure, but such are questions for the philosophers. Bans is far more hedonistic in nature, a fact evidenced by his latest, sexually-charged loosie. Teaming with Ohgeesy and D Savage for the assist, the trio take to a low-key, yet hype Ron Ron instrumental. In truth, the song is hardly the pinnacle of their respective careers, though it's certainly serviceable in its delivery. Lyrically, the trio seems content in flaunting their wealth, using it as a means of asserting a sense of superiority; while such practices might not get one far in life, they do work wonders at the strip club. Luckily, that's the destination set on the carpool's Google Maps. What do you think about this one? 3. Legendary comedian Louis C.K. recently surprised fans with his presence at a comedy festival. As the comedian appeared out of nowhere, the crowd went into a frenzy and launched a roaring standing ovation in response to the entertainer taking the stage. The whole thing went down at the SkankFest Comedy Mayhem Festival on Sunday night in Brooklyn and the crowd had no idea Louis C.K. would come, let alone, take the mic. In the video shared by TMZ, you can see the packed house giving Louis C.K. a standing ovation and cheering for him. Some fans even went onto literally jumping out of joy and you can see a woman clearly going crazy in the aforementioned video. Rich Fury/Getty Images Moreover, TMZ informs that the famed comedian opened his set by quickly addressing the previous controversy surrounding him. As you may recall, multiple women came forward in the past and alleged that the star had inflicted inappropriate sexual behavior on them. These women detailed how C.K. would ask them if he could masturbate in front of them. The latter got the comedian in a lot of trouble. In response to everything that went down, Louis C.K. commenced his set by saying: "If you ever masturbate in front of someone, ask them first. If they say yes, don't do it!" 4. Kevin Durant will most likely miss the entirety of the 2019-2020 season with a ruptured Achilles. It's a devastating injury that very few players have been able to fully recover from although considering Durant's talent, there is a good case to be made that he'll bounce back. This injury makes things complicated for KD thanks to the fact that he can become a free agent this Summer. It was believed that he would leave the Golden State Warriors and go somewhere else but with his injury, those theories have been put on the backburner. Jalen Rose went on ESPN's Get Up! this morning and spoke about Durant's offseason. As Rose explained, he feels as though Durant will go to the New York Knicks as that's where he's wanted to be from the start. “At the beginning of the [2018-19] season I felt like he was leaving for New York City. I still believe that to be the case,” Rose said. “His injury obviously creates a different type of hiccup in this scenario because of the Golden State Warriors’ ability to offer him five years and [an extra] $50 million and then grant him the opportunity to trade him where he wants to go. The problem is, I don’t know if I give them that level of autonomy. I still believe that he leaves.” Should Durant go to the Knicks, he will get to play with RJ Barrett who was selected third overall in this year's draft. He would surely be joining a team with plenty of young talent to build a contender with. View the full article
  5. He’s back ladies and gentlemen. Tom Hardy will indeed be playing his role as Venom in the upcoming sequel. The news was confirmed by Sony producer Amy Pascal in a recent interview with Fandango. “I can say that Tom Hardy will be back, magnificently playing that character as no one else can,” she stated. This news shouldn't come much of a surprise considering we knew the sequel was on the way, and if you saw the end credits of the first film then you saw Tom being introduced to his next enemy, Carnage, played by Woody Harrelson (see below). Plus, you add the success of $855 million dollar box office the first film had, then you’ll understand why they might want to run it back again. “Then there’s Tom Hardy. When you think of Venom [the character], you’ll never be able to think of anyone but Tom Hardy sitting in that bathtub of lobsters. And once you saw Tom Hardy do this character, that’s all you needed to know,” Pascal said while sharing the reasons for the first film’s success. No word when filming for the sequel will begin, but we’ll be sure to keep you posted moving forward. [Via] View the full article
  6. Golden State Warriors' superstar Stephen Curry is currently in China as part of his annual Under Armour Basketball Asia Tour, but it's not all about hoops. Curry today introduced his upcoming Under Armour golf collection at the largest golf facility in the world, located in Shenzhen, China. The Range Unlimited collection takes inspiration from Stephen’s off-court and on-course style, and combines it with the latest innovations from UA Golf to deliver an elevated performance line. “I wanted to try to blend my personality, my joy, my style off the court into a golf capsule – when you look good, you feel good and you play good golf.” “You want to be able to make bold statements with some loud prints… it still has the performance technology with Iso-Chill that makes you feel cool out there on the course. There is always a performance element to making athletes better and that is what we do at Under Armour, so blending those two perspectives was what made this capsule different from anything else you’ve seen.” The Range Unlimited capsule collection, available for purchase Fall 2019, includes 14 total pieces - tops, bottoms, outerwear, a Curry 6 spikeless golf shoe, and hats that all incorporate the latest material and design breakthroughs from UA Golf. 8. In a new interview, newly-minted NBA champion Danny Green revealed that it is not very likely that the Toronto Raptors will head to the Trump White House for the scheduled visit that typically follows a major sports championship win. Since his election into office, no NBA champion has visited Donald Trump's White House. It's been a pretty easy tally to keep especially considering the fact that the Golden State Warriors have been the only other team to win under his tenure. According to Green's new revelation though, it appears that Golden State's precedent is not unique to the organization. "I just don't think that we accept, " Green said. "I try to respect everybody in every field that they do regardless of how crazy the things are but [Trump] makes it really hard. He makes it very, very tough to respect how he goes about things and does things." "To put it politely, I think it's a hard no," he concluded. Green went on to acknowledge the hypothetical situation in which Trump eventually yanks his invitation back and says that Toronto was never invited in the first place. Recently though, Trump told the Toronto Star that he'd be open to welcoming the new champs to the White House if they're up to it. “Well, we thought about that. That’s an interesting question,” Trump revealed. “They played phenomenal basketball. I watched a little bit of it. They were really terrific. Congratulations, by the way. That was a great job by a great team. So we’ll think about that. If they’d like to do it, we’ll think about that.” View the full article

  11. If fans of Seinfeld clicked hoping that somewhere Cosmo Kramer's arch nemeses finally dropped a mixtape, this may not be the post you were looking for. No, these Van Buren Boys just happen to be another breed, rather an innately-talented set from Brockton, Massachusetts, just over 200 miles from Kramer and Jerry's Manhattan apartment building. The crew's roster is laced with promise, with the roots of production coming courtesy of Ricky Felix, a Revenge Of The Dreamers sessions attendee while flexing talent from Lord Felix, who has been on something of a roll this year, leading into the local heavyweights of Meech, Jiles, Luke Bar$ (another ROTD3 session alum) and the budding saint lyor. This week, the stacked VB Boys dropped off their first official release as a unit with their "Live @ The Oberon" track, coinciding with the announcement of their headlining show at the Massachusetts venue of the same name. On the track, a bass-laden backdrop, courtesy of Ricky Felix, sets the foundation for an infectious posse cut that introduces listeners to a strong set of artists who have spent the past months proving their worth as individuals, culminating their talents into a force to be reckoned with. 12. Future has officially broken his tie with Drake, earning his 10th No. 1 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart with Save Me. After earning its place at No.5 on the Billboard 200 charts last week, Future debut tally of 42,000 units also earned the Atlanta rapper a slot at no. 1 on the chart for the week ending with June 13th. This past decade as marked an era of tag between Future and Drake, who have frequently traded off on who holds the most No. 1 albums on the chart. it began in 2017 when Drake's More Life earned the Canadian superstar his seventh No. 1. Future impressively caught up that year when he earned three back-to-back No. 1s with his self-titled project, HNDRXX, and the Young Thug collab Super Slimey. Last year, they both increased their tallies hen Future debuted Future & Juice WRLD Present...World On Drugs while Drake dropped off Scorpion. The top of this year extended the tie when Future Hndrxx Presents: The Wizrd took hold of the top slot in February, making way for Drake to do the same with the streaming release of his So Far Gone mixtape. Save Me also opens up at No. 1 on the Top Rap Albums chart, marking Future's 10th No. 1 on that chart as well. Concurrently, four of the project's seven tracks have entered the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart with "Please Tell Me" leading the pack at No. 33 with "Xanax Damage" opening at No. 36. The last two debuts go to "Government Offical" at No. 37 and "St. Lucia" at No. 50. The new tracks push Future to 129 songs on the cart, making it the fourth best among acts. The only other artists to surpass him are Jay-Z (146), Lil Wayne (180), and Drake (211). View the full article
  13. This week, Madonna lands her ninth No. 1 album with her Madame X outing launching at 95,000 equivalent album units in the United States with 90,000 going toward pure album sales. It brings the pop star to have the second-most No. 1 albums among female artists, only falling behind Barbra Streisand who currently has 11 No. 1s. Among all acts, The Beatles still hold the most with 19. Madonna is tied among all artists with Eminem, Garth Brooks, and The Rolling Stones. The album's considerably impressive sales in this streaming age were partly due to a concert ticket/album sale redemption offer for Madonna's upcoming theater tour, beginning in September at New York's Howard Gilman Opera House. Overall, it makes for the year's fourth-largest sales week for a woman. Michael Campanella/Getty Images The remainder of the chart marks a rare week in which hip-hop albums are not dominating the chart's top 10. Following behind the Queen of Pop is Bruce Springsteen's Western Stars album, making it his 20th top 10 album with 66,000 equivalent album units. No. 3 is occupied by Billie Eilish's When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? with 58,000 units while the Jonas Brother's former No. 1 Happiness drops to No. 4 in its second week with 52,000 units. Bastille goes on to claim its second top 10 album with the band's Doom Days bowing at No. 5 with 41,000 units while Khalid's Free Spirit follows at No. 6 with 37,000 units. You'll find the week's only hip-hop entries in the following slots as Polo G's Die A Legend maintains its top 10 slot, slipping down to No. 6 with 29,000 while DaBaby's Baby on Baby glides to No. 7 with 28,000 units. Closing things out are Lizzo's Cuz I Love You album which experiences an ascent from No. 14 to No. 9 with a 3 percent increase after clocking 27,000 units. 14. In this day and age, players and agents hold the cards in negotiation. Back in the way back, if you wanted out of a contract, you had to gid your way out with an out-of-pocket buyout. That's not to say, pro athletes shouldn't have agency in their careers. Quite the opposite. On that note, Sacramento Kings center Willie Cauley-Stein is hopeful the organization will grant him leave of absence, through a trade of some sort. Instead of playing himself out of position, Cauley-Stein deployed his agent, Roger Montgomery of Roc Nation Sports, to get behind the eight ball. Easily enough, Montgomery went straight to the Sac Town's leading print media outlet as the first order of operation. Rob Carr/Getty Images "I really think Willie needs a fresh start," Montgomery told the Sacramento Bee. "Based on how things have gone for him there in Sacramento, I just think it's time for Willie to move on and we'd really like him to move on." "I'm hopeful they will not even give Willie his qualifying offer," he continued. You might be wondering why of all people, Willie Cauley-Stein, a serviceable NBA talent with little star power, is making such demands. If I've read into this correctly, Cauley-Stein and his agent believe he's being overlooked or stifled by a deepening Sacramento Kings' rotation. In his first four years in the NBA, Cauley-Stein has averaged 10.1 points at a 53.4 percentage from the floor, along with 6.4 rebounds and 0.8 blocks per game. If the Kings don't extend him a qualifying offer by the end of the month, his rookie deal will expire, rendering him an unrestricted free agent, free to sign anywhere else in the league. Don't think for a second this ploy wasn't orchestrated several months in advance. [Via] View the full article

  16. D'Angelo Russell was traded away from the Los Angeles Lakers soon after he exposed Nick Young's cheating ways while he was with Iggy Azalea. He has since matured nicely on the Brooklyn Nets, but speculation from NBA insiders claim that Russell is willing to head back to the City of Angels. "A source close to the situation has confirmed to me that D’Angelo Russell has reciprocal interest in the Lakers 'if the money is right,'" tweeted sports writer Arye Abraham. "I’m told he loves Los Angeles and has no ill will towards LAL now that Magic Johnson is gone." D’Angelo Russell is on the market as a restricted free agent this Summer, and four years ago, he was asked which athletes he would most like to play with among every player in NBA history. Including himself in the lineup, D’Angelo named Bill Russell, Michael Jordan, Anthony Davis, and LeBron James. Now that James and Davis are together on the Lakers, it appears that Russell can fulfill at least a portion of his dream team roster. The Lakers are in dire need of a guard since they shaved down their roster to acquire Davis, and Russell's talents would make him a true asset for the team. View the full article
  17. Benjamin Earl Turner's clerical responsibilities often bleed into his craft. Instead of manning the wheel like a tyrant, Turner allows the listener ample space to declare their own intentions within the body of his songs. "Had To" isn't the first time Turner successfully created intimacy without making any strange inferences along the way. He is, by virtue of his vagabond past, and I do say that kindly, a rapper who approaches unexplored territory on an even keel. Where others see drywall, Turner weaves into open space. While that allusion might seem overly generous at first glance, think it over: Turner falls short of explaining "what he's been on" because there's no real need for a pitch line when operating with a poetic lens. The creative impetus begins to click once you read into his artist bio - a story that unfolds on the surface level, with him meeting Saba, and culminating with Izaïah's production of "Had To." Enjoy, and hit us with your thoughts in the comment section below the write-up. 18. The Underachievers overachieved with their last project. Lords Of Flatbush 3 touched down this past week, offering fans a brief but enjoyable 9 track EP to bump to. The songs themselves are also pretty brief, employing a "short but sweet" tactic that works very well. "Tokyo Drift" caught my attention on the first listen of Lords Of Flatbush 3, and has been on repeat ever since. The dark instrumental gives you the chills while still causing a sense of excitement to run through your views. The perfect turn up. It's almost impossible not to bang your head when the beat drops. Braggadocious lyrics about scandalous women and cash money pepper the track. "Tokyo Drift" would sound at home at any club but also knocks in the car. 19. Trina and Sevyn Street get sexy on the single "For You." You know a song is about to get down and dirty when the first bar is "put it on your face." This collaboration is a match made in heaven and can easily make us reminisce on another R&B collaboration with Trina and Kelly Rowland "Here We Go" or the Keyshia Cole-infused track "I Gotta Thang For You." And now Sevyn Streeter joins in on the list of great soulful collaborations the Baddest B*tch has called onto for some magic. "For You" is a bedroom bop and is fitted to the preliminaries. As Sevyn offers her honey-dew vocals, Trina raps about being dedicated to loving her man despite common relationship issues. The song stems from the latest musical effort from the artist, the highly-anticipated album The One. The project called onto a slew of different artists which include Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj, 2 Chainz & more.
