By Sowmya Krishnamurthy Despite the ongoing feud between the Jackson family, matriarch Katherine and Michael Jackson's children--Paris, Prince and Blanket--are supporting the larger family's Unity tour. TMZ shares that Katherine and the kids showed up in Saratoga, NY last night, and drew a small round of applause from the crowd, where Jackson brothers Marlon, Tito, Jackie and Jermaine are touring. A source tells TMZ that Michael's kids did not appear to be enjoying themselves. This comes after several days of family in-fighting, especially between the children and the older Jackson siblings. Yesterday, RapFix reported that Katherine and TJ (Tito's son) may be sharing custody of Paris, Prince and Blanket. According to TMZ, Katherine's attorney, Perry Sanders, says that Katherine and TJ will file a request for joint guardianship in court early next week. Katherine's lawyer says the new shared living arrangement "reflected the wishes of [Michael Jackson's] children." Katherine lost custody of the children to TJ earlier after a dispute over Michael's estate and the whereabouts and treatment of Katherine were questioned. A fight broke out at Katherine's home in Calabasas, California on Monday (July 23) during which multiple family members were involved, including MJ's famous sister Janet. Police arrived at the scene but no arrests were made. This week TorrentFreak has been running articles based on the leak of several IFPI and RIAA internal documents. Today’s article covers IFPI’s attempts to educate their members on how to mitigate a relatively new technique for obtaining pre-release music. Online release groups and other leakers have always been resourceful when it comes to getting the latest tunes, whether from light-fingered employees at CD packing plants or friendly music-reviewing sources with access to fresh promos. “Web piracy is similar to organized crime, there is a hierarchy, our goal is to identify those at the top,” Mo Ali, Head of Internet Anti-Piracy Operations at IFPI explained during his April 2012 presentation. IFPI’s investigative aims are to: 1. Identify the source site of the leak 2. Identify the original uploader 3. Gather intelligence and evidence about the user. 4. Work with the record label to prevent further leaks. 5. Determine if there is a criminal case. Ali adds that through their investigations, IFPI have been able to reduce the number of leaks. One such investigation, against the music release group “DOH”, is detailed in the slide below. IFPI say that through various online profiles he was identified as a music journalist. IFPI sent a local investigator to speak to ALEKO and he confessed that he had tried to get music by blackmailing producers. Initially though, ALEKO said he’d been obtaining music from hackers. The hacking phenomenon is detailed by IFPI in the remaining slides. The music group reports that producers very often send tracks via email, so hackers try to gain access to their accounts in order to get music, even before it gets into promo form. In order to protect their members from such attacks (and this is good advice for anyone operating an email account), IFPI warns against phishing emails which claim to be from well-known file-storage sites but are really there to obtain email log-in details. Fans have been waiting patiently for music (or any news, really) from Lupe Fiasco and his All City Chess Club, and now it finally seems like a mixtape could be on the way. The first rule of All City Chess Club is: "If they said it, they're in it." That's the word according to Lupe Fiasco, who gathered a few talented young rappers that were "rocking on the same wavelength" to form a powerhouse collective. The problem, however, is that J. Cole, Wale, Blu, Mickey Factz, B.o.B, Asher Roth and company haven't linked up to record anything substantial, but Lupe says the right efforts could yield a mixtape in the near future. Lupe has his own album, Food & Liquor II: The Great American Rap Album, Part 1, coming up this fall, but during this week's episode of"RapFix Live," a few members of his club — Diggy, Mickey Factz, and B.o.B — had questions for him about the status of the collective. Mickey Factz, echoing the sentiments of fans, wanted to know, "When are we gonna get everybody to do this All City Chess Club project, brother?" adding, "Call B.o.B, I'll get Wale, I'll get Cole — let's just make this happen. It's getting ridiculous now. We're going on about two years now. Let's make it work." Lupe, momentarily taken aback but generally amused by the barrage of questions, laughed it off, then gave in. "Aight, let's do it," he said. "Everybody who's a part of the All City Chess Club, let's do it. Let's make something happen. I'm ready." Since we've haven't heard much from or about the crew, save for their "I'm Beamin' (remix)," Lupe explained his original vision behind the all-star collective: "Everybody [has] their own piece, and I never meant it to be a Wu-Tang thing or nothing like that," he said. "[It was] just to show some unity from everybody who was rocking on the same wavelength — so Blu, Asher Roth, the Cool Kids, Mickey, I reached out to J. Cole, I reached out to Wale, Diggy of course, and my man Dosage from Philadelphia." Of trying to rope everyone in to record a project, Lupe said, "That's gonna be mayhem, but ya'll wanna do it? Let's do it. It's a process. We'll put it together correctly and write, and make sure everybody gets their fair share. I think it'll most likely live in the mixtape world so we don't get caught up in that label thing." With the head count over 10 at this point, it seems reasonable to expect a mixtape project from the All City Chess Club over a studio-backed LP. "You know, the publishing splits on that are gonna be bananas?" Lupe said, laughing. "And that's what I was tryna tell 'em, like, 'Man, you gonna get like 30 cents [each].' Via Entertainment Wise, in an upcoming interview with Q magazine, Harris shares that Rihanna once tried to get more friendly with him, by inviting him into her dressing room, but it didn't really work out. The latest will be "Get Low," which Nicki Minaj and Tyga filmed with him in Atlanta this week. "The concept for the video was a red, white and black color scheme, and a lot of art," Waka told MTV News. "I wanted to bring hip-hop videos back — choreographing and girls dancing in it. There's too [many] naked women dancing in videos scenes to me. I feel like I wanna put the art back into it. I feel like it's my job to put the art and the fun back into the music." A couple of the shots find Waka and Tyga rapping their respective verses in a dark space illuminated by strobe lights, and then in an energetic club atmosphere — which shows off Waka's red, white and black color scheme — surrounded by girls and other partygoers.
