The Engineers, the zombie-fied Fifield and that little surprise at the end had the look of some classic "Alien" creatures that made us a twinge nostalgic. But new stills featured in [i]Cinefex[/i] magazine (via [url="http://bloody-disgusting.com/news/3188438/check-out-some-wicked-deleted-scenes-featuring-a-mutated-fifield-from-prometheus/"]Blood Disgusting[/url]) show an unused version of the Fifield monster post-mask melting, a digital one created by Weta Digital. The images have wound up online and give us a look at a version of that monster that might have been. Check out the full photos after the jump! Though the creature played by Rafe Spall ended up being made largely of practical effects, Ridley Scott filmed two versions of the scene, one featuring Spall acting with the prosthetic and one where the digital character could be added. The new minute-long teaser for Quentin Tarantino's latest is the most entertaining look at the flick that we've had to date. Instead of focusing on the plot -- which, like most Tarantino movies, gets a bit dark -- this trailer shows off the playful side of "Django Unchained." We always knew we would have a fun time watching the movie, but it seems as though the characters involved will be in for some exciting times as well. "Django Unchained" follows Django (Foxx) as he seeks to rescue his wife Broomhilda (Kerry Washington) from the men who captured her. He teams up with Dr. King Schultz (Waltz), a bounty hunter who enlists him to help him catch his quarry before they go on to find Django's wife. Their hunt leads them to a plantation called "Candyland," run by the delightfully villainous Calvin Candie (Leonardo DiCaprio). Based on what we know about the project, things spiral quickly out of control from that point onwards. This trailer simply makes the movie seem fun. "Django Unchained" will likely get as dark as Tarantino's last movie, "Inglourious Basterds," but at least there will be some levity to balance it off. DiCaprio seems like he's having the time of his life as Calvin Candie, and we're just glad to see him playing something other than a mopey leading man whose wife just died. Joining a performer line-up that already includes the VMA debut of One Direction, Taylor Swift,? Green Day? and Pink?, five-time VMA nominee Rihanna will bring the heat at the September 6 show. Rihanna is tied with Drake for the night's most nominations, including two bids for Video of the Year. Times are changing and veterans like Snoop Dogg are rolling with it. The West Coast native is confident that the hip-hop community is ready to embrace an openly gay rapper, something he admits would've been near impossible during his early years in the game. In an interview with the Salt Lake Tribune via HipHopDx, Snoop shared his thoughts on homosexuality in hip-hop. "People are learning how to live and get along more, and accept people for who they are and not bash them or hurt them because they’re different," he said. The Doggfather (now known as Snoop Lion, FYI) referenced Frank Ocean's recent and brave decision to open up about his sexuality, adding, "When I was growing up, you could never do that and announce that. Director Peter Berg decided that he wanted to film a good portion of the movie on the open seas. But as you can see in the exclusive clip we have from the "Battleship" home video special features, that was much easier said than done. We had explosions, we had fire, we had everything." Even Berg seemed to have a difficult time with it, as we see him threaten to become sea sick in one moment in the above clip. But the cast felt that the difficult filming conditions all ended up being worth it in the long run. "It was nuts, man, in every way. I think that sort of encompasses the whole film. We're all in. It's all or nothing," leading man Taylor Kitsch said. "It was quite intense, just to be out in the ocean. There's things that happened that you can't rehearse." Rihanna, who was born and raised in Barbados, actually felt pretty at home in the watery set. "It's great. We couldn't pick a more perfect place to do this film," she said.
