Third Man Records Launches Turkey Drive

Jack White's Third Man Records is teaming up with the Nashville Rescue Mission to help out the city's hungry and homeless. They've started the Great Third Man Turkey Drive to aid with the Rescue Mission's Thanksgiving banquet. If you bring in a turkey to Third Man, you'll receive a 7" of your choice. The grand prize winner—the person who brings in the most turkeys—will get a very rare Dead Weather triple decker record.

They're also asking for people to donate non-perishable food (in big cans), winter hats, socks, and gloves. If you bring in about $25 worth of those other goods, you'll receive a 7". (They break down what everything is worth here.) Also, if you bring in a donation, they'll take your picture and put it on their wall of fame. The turkey drive goes on until November 26.

Third Man is encouraging people to volunteer with the Nashville Rescue Mission.

That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention.
But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
