Uncle Tupelo's No Depression Gets Two-Disc Deluxe Reissue

Uncle Tupelo, the late 80s/early 90s alt-country band that included Wilco's Jeff Tweedy and Son Volt's Jay Farrar, has announced a two-disc reissue of its 1990 classic, No Depression. Out January 28 through Sony Legacy, it's titled No Depression: Legacy Edition and includes 22 bonus tracks. Hear the demo of "I Got Drunk" above via Rolling Stone.

The bonus tracks include the band's 1989 demo tape Not Forever, Just for Now, two songs from a self-released 1988 tape (Live and Otherwise), and five songs from the band's 1987 demo Colorblind and Rhymeless. Liner notes are by Richard Byrne of St. Louis' Riverfront Times. Check out the full tracklist here.

A 7" featuring Uncle Tupelo's cover of the Stooges'  "I Wanna Be Your Dog" b/w a cover of Creedence Clearwater Revival's "Commotion" will be released for Record Store Day's Back to Black Friday.
