Stream New Releases From Islands, Trentemøller, Crystal Stilts, Traxman, Fort Romeau, and Yuppies Via Pitchfork Advance

Islands release their new full-length Ski Mask this week via frontman Nick Thorburn's label Manqué Music. The follow-up to last year's A Sleep and A Forgetting features the single "Wave Forms", and it's available to stream now via Pitchfork Advance, our immersive music streaming platform designed to emulate the classic album experience.

Danish dance music producer Trentemøller has rounded up a long list of collaborators for his new album Lost. The follow-up to 2010's Into the Great Wide Yonder features guest appearances from members of Low, Blonde Redhead, the Drums, the Raveonettes, Lower Dens, and more. Footwork producer Cornelius Ferguson, aka Traxman, is back with a new record to follow up Da Mind of TraxmanTeklife Volume 3: The Architek is out September 17 via Lit City Trax, and it's streaming here.

New York post-punk band Crystal Stilts release their new album Nature Noir this week via Sacred Bones. It follow's 2011's Radiant Door EP and In Love With Oblivion LP and Listen here.

Following the "SW9" single and "Jetée"/"Desire", London house aesthete Fort Romeau releases the Stay/True EP this week via Ghostly. Listen here.

Dull Tools, the label from Parquet Courts' Andrew Savage, is releasing the self-titled debut from Omaha jangle-punks Yuppies. It's out this week and streaming here.

Pitchfork Advance showcases an interactive listening environment featuring pre-release albums streams with dynamic graphics and a host of tools that allows fans to engage with album art, lyrics, credits, track listings, artist info, and more while they listen.

    • Wait, Burning Man is going online-only? What does that even look like?
      You could have been forgiven for missing the announcement that actual physical Burning Man has been canceled for this year, if not next. Firstly, the nonprofit Burning Man organization, known affectionately to insiders as the Borg, posted it after 5 p.m. PT Friday. That, even in the COVID-19 era, is the traditional time to push out news when you don't want much media attention. 
      But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
