Sub Pop Announce Shoe Collection

As part of their 25th anniversary Silver Jubilee celebration, Sub Pop has teamed with TOMS to release a line of shoes. It's the three pairs you see above-- a gray lace-up Paseo for men and two pairs of slip-on Classics. According to the press release, "for every pair of shoes purchased, TOMS will give a pair of new shoes to a child in need."

They're on sale July 1 via TOMS' website, and each pair of shoes will come with a download code for a Sub Pop sampler (featuring tracks by Shabazz Palaces, Metz, Pissed Jeans, King Tuff, Father John Misty, Mudhoney, and others). They'll also be on sale at this year's Sub Pop Silver Jubilee festival in Seattle on July 13. (Find more info on the fest here.)

But secondly, you may have missed its cancellation because the Borg is being careful not to use the C-word. The announcement was neutrally titled "The Burning Man Multiverse in 2020." Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
