Bent - The Everlasting Blink

...Everlasting Blink has a sound which can perhaps best be desribed as Orbital jamming with Lemon Jelly while the KLF man the sampler. Highlights for me are the hazy infectious disco of Magic Love, the catchy electro pop of Ordinary Day and the Jon Marsh-vocalled Beautiful Otherness which brings back fond memories of early Nineties raving.

As so often happens with music of this type, tunes from The Everlasting Blink are already finding their way into advertising (such the recent ad for tax credits).

Fans of Lemon Jelly, Royksopp et al are well advised to snap this album up fast before its poppy beauty is tarnished by too much televised repetition.

Even as it offers refunds to early ticket buyers, considers layoffs and other belt-tightening measures, and can't even commit to a physical event in 2021, the Borg is making lemonade by focusing on an online-only version of Black Rock City this coming August.    Read more...
